This famous statue of Jesus with His arms outstretched is an inviting image that goes with the scripture, "Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28. It's awesome to know that all we have to do is surrender to Jesus, and He will take care of us! We can run to Him like children to our Father!
The statue that is pictured in this design is in Rio De Janerio, and I don't know how many times I've seen it, but as I was working on our Christmas line, I ran across the picture again. It caught my eye and God put the scripture of rest on my heart (Matthew 11:28). I kept staring at the picture and just thought, "Man, it will be awesome one day, when I am in heaven, to run to Jesus and that He will be there with outstretched arms!" I felt such a comfort just then, that I was inspired to use this image! All for His glory!
