Chalese: Hi Ashley normally I would agree but i think that the shirt is talking about the idea of legalism like i brush my teeth or go to work religiously. The shirt is emphasising the idea of a relationship (which like you said is the root of the original word) over legalism (which is what it has been transformed to in todays society.

Ashley: I do not like this shirt. The root word of religion is the Latin word "religare", which means to be in relationship with. So by saying that religion sucks, you are saying that having a relationship with Christ sucks. This is VERY offensive!
