This group of assignments is designed to give sixth level students (generally advanced high school students who haven't used Writing Strands) an introduction to the very complicated process of giving others their thoughts in written form. The learning of this skill is one of the hardest hobs that you have. These assignments will make it easier. Much of the planning and detail of the writing process is presented here. The writing exercieses in this level are in three categories: creative, research and report, and expository. The assignments in each of these areas will guide you in the development of the skills you will need. Rather than increase the work for your parents, this writing process should make it easier for both you and your parents to meet the demands for more student writing. These assignments are not presented as the ultimate answer. They're detailed suggestions. If the assignments are attempted and you work hard, you will have a well-founded introduction to this most difficult skill, and your parents will find it easier to have confidence that this part of the teaching challenge has been met.
