This group of assignments in the series called Writing Strands is designed to give homeschooled students a grounding in the very complicated process of giving others their thoughts in written form. This level is designed for students who are about fifteen or sixteen years old. Of course, if a student of any age had finished the fourth level, the next year that student would be ready for this level. Learning to write well is one of the hardest jobs that you have. These assignments will make it easier. Much of the planning and detail of the writing process is presented here. The writing exercises in this level are in four categories: basic, creative, organization, and descriptive. The assignments in each of these areas will guide you in the development of the skills you will need to be able to feel good about your ability to write. Rather than increase thw work for your parents, this writing process should make it easier for both you and your parents to meet the increasing demands for more student writing. If The directions are followed carefully and the assignments are written in finished form, you will have a well-founded introduction to this most difficult skill, and your parents will find it easier to have confidence that this part of their teaching challenge has been met.
