Each Teacher's Guide provides guidelines and scripting for direct, explicit instruction of every lesson. A lesson is presented in ten steps, starting with the introduction or review of a concept, working through to it mastery. Every concept is first taught in an introductory lesson and then spiraled or practiced, along with previously taught concepts, in reinforcement lessons. For each concept, the Teacher's Guide presented detailed information for teaching each Introductory Lesson and for the first Reinforcement Lesson. The remaining Reinforcement Lessons should be taught in essentially the same way, but when material is presented for the first time within these latter Reinforcement Lessons, it will be fully detailed. (For example, complete background information is presented for each story along with detailed scripting for comprehension discussion.)
