"Pray without ceasing..." - 1 Thess 5:17

Christian H My friends cousin has been seriously talking about suicide and is very serious. Recent medical struggles in the family make things worse. Please pray, this is going on as we speak. I dont have much info, he just asked me to pray and get more to pray. Pray that God uses this low point as the beginning of a change. Pray that God would overwhelm this guy with love, joy and peace. Let Gods power and love overflow into this suffering person. Thanks so much.

Sarah32 Oh wow, Im sorry Christian. :( Talking about suicide is definitely a warning flag, yet it is also a cry for help. Please encourage your friend to speak to the cousin about getting help (counseling from a Christian counselor, Pastor, etc.) There is a REASON behind WHY this person wants to end his life. He could be hopeless due to a certain circumstance, he may have a chemical imbalance....there are so many reasons behind suicidal behavior. Talking to a professional is one of THE best things he can do. This situation stretches beyond your capabilities and your friends too. If he starts to develop a suicide plan (shooting himself with a gun he has in his possession, drinking down a bottle of vodka with X pills....the more specific he is in his plan, the more concerned your friend (and others) should be. Encourage your friend to talk to the parents, especially if he is underage. If the issues get too deep, they may have to call the cops to Baker Act him, but at least he will be safe from himself and receive mental health treatment in a hospital. Ill be praying, Christian, for God to create mental stability in his mind, show this guy His overwhelming love and purpose on earth, and I pray for wisdom of each of you to do what needs to be done to help treat the cousin. If you guys have Gods Spirit inside of you, He will speak to you and be a guidance to you.<3 I just want you to keep in mind the importance of therapy. Counselors are there for a reason!!!<3
