its an everyday process, an everyday struggle to live a life like Jesus. You will probably be criticized for your faith, but the One who gave life is on your side. He is there every step of the way and when the road gets rocky He will pick you up and carry you. He is there trying to fend off the evils that surround you. Take the time to turn down the noise of the world and listen to him. Dont be the one who regrets what you did in your life when your life ends and you realize that there is a God...

"sometimes its best when you stop asking questions and just sit back and enjoy the world. take the time to smell the roses or get out of the fast lane."
-lol I can enjoy life and question it at the same time.
"why does the wind blow"
-Difference in air pressure.
"why do the waves crash"
-Wind, mostly.
"how many grains of sand are there in the world, how many stars are in the sky"
-A lot. ;)
"Alpha, you’re pretty cool."
-Got that right. ;)
"we have the capacity to change the very nature of who we are."
-No. People dont change. Our actions may change, but we will always be the same selfish people. At best, we can use our selfishness to accomplish noble goals, but we always do what we do because it benefits us in some way(or we think it does.)
"None of this would be possible without God. To say that He is not helping or in fact changing us is the same as telling me that the changes in my own life are of my own accord."
-If we are unable to choose to be good on our own, then we would not have free will.

I think thats a generalization. Theres no possible way you can know the hearts of every human being and the intentions therein. Youre just judging that based on yourself and those you know.

It is also a generalization to say that no human can breathe water...there are certain qualities that can be reasonably assumed uniform among humans.

And this is not one of them. Youre claiming to know that people cant change even though youre not a christian and cant say for sure how christianity can change someone. If you truly used to be christian, you would have gotten a taste of this change. Guess you didnt mean it.
Did you know that scientists have done research on the effects that prayer has on our brain? They studied nuns and monks during prayer and the area of our brain that has to do with self was completely inactive.

"Youre claiming to know that people cant change"
-Technically, I only said "people dont change." ;)
"They studied nuns and monks during prayer and the area of our brain that has to do with self was completely inactive."
-lol You obviously lack a basic understanding of neurology...the entire brain "has to do with self".
You must mean the nuns were less conscious of their physical needs during prayer/meditation....which has absolutely no pertinence to the topic at hand. :)
Everyone does what makes them feel best. If they dont do what is physically satisfying, then they act in a way that brings them mental/emotional happiness.
People can change their habits and actions, but they will always be the same selfish person that theyve always been.
