If God is Loving... Why? posted in Get A Clue on 10/29/10 @ 5:00 PM by Andrew

Ok so if God loves us why would he predestion anyone to go to Hell (exodus 9:13-18 and romans 9:16-18)? Why would he create man and know they would sin and seperate themselves? wouldn't it have been kinder if they were never created at all? but he created us for HIS OWN GLORY. Also why would he hate someone?

"but Esau I have hated, and I have turned his mountains into a wasteland and left his inheritance to the desert jackals."

also He pretty much in romans 9:19-21 Man handles us

One of you will say to me: "Then why does God still blame us? For who resists his will?" But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? "Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, 'Why did you make me like this?' "Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use?

I mean I know no matter what I will stay Christian because there has to be more purpose than just being a floating blob but is Christianity really Love or ALL about his glory and really not much love?

@Alpha God has chosen that some would go to hell and He in His divine providence has every right to do so. The fact is that people do in themselves choose hell. Most would rather spend a lifetime on their own terms. If 50 years on God's terms is not a desired lifestyle then how can an eternity in submission to God be perceived as desirable to the lost. They have in their life chosen death.

Also I have good answer to your simple questions

you said,
"...why is Christianity a better way to Heaven than Islam or Buddhism or any other system of belief?"

It is not a better way to heaven. It is the only way to heaven. God didn't make 100 roadmaps and say, "make your choice. whichever one seems better to you is the way you can follow to me." That would be totally ridiculous and it would make God into an author of confusion which scripture states He is not. What happened is that God made a single roadmap. One way, Christ. The devil and the lovers of this world make many counterfeit roadmaps. Alpha you say there is no good answer to this question but scripture sufficiently accounts for this question. (Proverbs 14:12, Proverbs 16:25, John 6:44, John 14:6,Acts 4:12)

You also asked,"...why can't people just choose to "serve God, or reject God" and avoid the very confusing middleman Jesus? "

Firstly,
Jesus,Yeshua, is God. You cannot know the Father if you are oblivious to the Son. I hope I don't have to explain the hypostatic union to a professing Christian. This is the most basic of doctrine. Jesus was fully divine and fully natural. Fully God and fully man. Jesus is the Son of God.He is God the Son.

Secondly
You cant serve God and avoid God. For God isn't void of God.

Thirdly,
What was confusing about Jesus? He was very plain and blunt in all that He spake. It is only confusion to those who remain lost. ! Corinthians 1:18

"God has chosen that some would go to hell and He in His divine providence has every right to do so." .....I agree with everything else you posted werefromthelight besides this statement which indicates that the bible teaches predestination, incase someone was brwosing through and is a "baby christian" I want to let them know this is a debated issue and I could not let this be read as a "fact" that the bible teaches.

//The simple answer is God sends no one to hell. People send themselves. Free will was given to man and with it a choice. Choose God and serve him, or reject God and go to hell. As christians it is up to us to tell people about Jesus. At least then they can make an informed decision on their final destination.//

I totally agree with, Jon. It is our own stubborness that would cause us to go to hell. "God is not willing that any should perish"

Jon - 1/12/11 @ 4:51 PM

why thank you :D

@ kingskid I agree with you last statement, but I don't understand how people believe in predestination when the bible teaches free will. If predestination is true than that means the bible contradicts itself when teaching free will.

Jon - 1/13/11 @ 8:43 AM

agreed.
