P90X posted in General on 8/15/10 @ 1:57 PM by PutHisBloodOnIt

Just curious if anyone has done or heard of the home workout program called p90x? I am on my second time doing this program and its amazing and use many of these moves and exercises with some of my clients. If you dont like gyms and dont know much about fitness this program is excellent. Go on youtube and type in "p90x results" and you will see actual real people not actors and their amazing results.

Hmm...I should do that. Never heard of it before, actually; but I dont have access to a gym, so it would be good. =)

fight.for.Christ. - 8/15/10 @ 6:33 PM

I heard people talking about it at cross country a while ago, but i think ill just stick with distance running :) aha. that sounds crazy.

Stephanie - 8/15/10 @ 6:58 PM

Yeah Ive heard of it. A few of my friends did/do it. they seem to like it, but they say its really difficult, at least in the beginning. lol - I think I might try it too

PutHisBloodOnIt - 8/15/10 @ 7:09 PM

It is difficult when first starting but the good thing is you can hit pause and take breaks and go at your own pace until you feel comfortable gpoing all out.

For you who are curious about it, it is a set of dvds and each day you put in a dvd that lasts about 45min to an hour they vary. Its that simple just pop in the dvd and press play and give it all you got and I promise you within one week you will notice results. But ofcourse you have to maintain a balanced and healthy diet also my favorite saying which I tell to my clients after every workout whicj they hate hearing it lol but its "you will never out train a bad diet".

Josi - 8/15/10 @ 7:47 PM

my friend said he just ordered it

tried. started. failed. nuff said

ivan - 8/17/10 @ 5:42 PM

it looks fun. i wouldn't mind trying it out sometime.

PutHisBloodOnIt - 8/17/10 @ 6:26 PM

Its is very fun, its almost like not working out!

Sarah - 8/17/10 @ 7:16 PM

So...is that sort of like my friend's DVD??? She was like "I walk for 30 minutes every day and I don't leave my living room!"
That would actually be very good for me, because I'm not allowed to walk alone on our road (because it's quiet and secluded and some of our neighbours are strange-ish...), and it's not too fun walking in a rough hayfield... ;P

Eric - 8/17/10 @ 7:37 PM

it depends on what your goals are, for me Id rather be in a gym then jumping around in front of my tv...however from what I hear it gives great results. Also a great option for those that have gym anxiety.

PutHisBloodOnIt - 8/17/10 @ 7:38 PM

Well its not walking there is a series of dvds each one is diefferent, such as cardio, kenpo, ab, yoga, chest& back etc.... but all of it can be done in your home.

Kwel...
Whoa! What was THAT???

Kewl or cool....

Okay, sounds great. One quick question: The Great Yoga Debate.
My mom hates it; my pastor's wife thinks it's okay as long as you don't get spiritual or else use it as time to focus on God.
So, ????

jake - 8/19/10 @ 8:42 AM

yoga...
I am not here saying that it is bad in and of itself, but check this out:
"All paths [of yoga] lead ultimately to the same destination - to union with Brahman or God - and the lessons of each of them need to be integrated if true wisdom is to be attained."
(The Sivananda Companion to YOGA, by Lucy Lidell, Fireside Books, 1983, p18)
"The ultimate purpose of both ansanas and pranayama is to purify the nadis or nerve channels so that prana can flow freely through them, and to prepare the body for the raising of Kundalini, the supreme cosmic energy, which leads the yogi to a state of God consciousness." (The Sivananda Companion to YOGA, by Lucy Lidell, Fireside Books, 1983, p29)
The basic positions in yoga are called ansanas. The correct breathing is called pranayama. The purpose of those two is to facilitate the flow of prana. Prana is as described in most yoga text a "vital energy" that has to flow through the body.
(Explained by Dr. Rebecca Brown, Prepare for War, p 194)
But as Christians who live by the spirit and not by the flesh can see that there is something wrong with all of this... Take it as you want, but I can see a demonic connection with yoga

Sarah - 8/19/10 @ 8:49 AM

Yee-wow! Doesn't sound too good...
