Okay, I have to clear something up. First, I am sorry for being judgmental and labeling all Christian rock music as "bad". And for saying I dont like any/most of the popular bands. Half of the time, I dont even know who Im listening to, but...I just got an eye-opener.
I love Robin Mark. And I love a particular rendition of "Days of Elijah". But, I didnt know until now...(After basically writing Hillsong off as "too rocky" for me <=D)
Sometimes I do not pay attention to things...and thanks Japlace, for your post in "Jesus Christ"--because thats what inspired me to check this all out!
Major humble pie for this girl! Part of the problem? I heard one song and judged the entire group. I am sorry. But, I like to hear the words. I do not like it when the music overpowers the words.

And yes...I know some of those songs are totally contradicting what I said earlier. i dont know what I was thinking, but I wasnt thinking about some of my favourite songs, and I am sorry for being judgmental.
Forgive me??? =)

Japlace - 8/6/10 @ 6:08 PM
No worries, Silly Sarah!
Love These are the days of Elijah! Great song.
Are you referring to the Charlie Hall song, Sarah? If so, what do you think of his beard? lol. I dont know if i would know his faith by his looks, haha. No offense Charlie! ;P
Sarah - 8/6/10 @ 6:49 PM
Hah! NOOOOO!!!!!! Yeah....I was sort of shocked about the guys looks! ;P But...a guy who was raised in my church is a member of The Light Division, which is apparently a Christian band...and he has dreadlocks...down to his waist, Im guessing???
But, yeah. I decided to check out the video you had posted, and from there I decided to randomly look up other stuff...
So! I was just talking about you... Questions!
1: Mind if I ask WHEN in Nov. 1992 you were born??? (I know someone born on the 3rd--another miracle baby, actually) Even looks similar... Sure youre not Jamie Cober???? =P
2: And anyone can answer this one: What is the difference between amigá and amigó????? And comprendé and comprendó?
Marvin - 8/6/10 @ 7:03 PM
I can answer no2
Amiga - She Friend
Amigo - He Friend
such as
Chico - Guy
Chica - Girl
Ello/Ella (I forgot it) - Comprende is he/she/it understands
yo -Comprendo is I understand
I cannot answer question no.1 though XDD
Ill side with Japlace too though, "Silly Sarah!" :P
Marvin - 8/6/10 @ 7:08 PM
The Spanish part is memory, faded memory, XDD...
As far as I can remember, its tu comprendes as well..
Sarah - 8/6/10 @ 7:11 PM
=P "Silly Sarah" seems so super-popular on this site! Bob...look at what you started!!! Its your fault! All your fault! (;P)
Actually, I find it cute. =) It always serves to bring a smile, even when I am really down... =D So actually, thanks! =D
So...I would say amigó to you, but amigá to my friend Joy?
And I didnt even know the chico/chica thing...I thought Jake was just being whatever when he posted his "So chicas! What do you look for in a guy" or whatever...
Duh... Okay! Home schooled and Canadian! Either could be why I never heard that. =)
Thanks for clearing up no. 2, Marvin. =)
Sarah - 8/6/10 @ 7:12 PM
Good memory!
Marvin - 8/6/10 @ 7:19 PM
Well, I am not so certain about the accents though XD, I do not think theyre added to this... (I wont look it up, cant be bothered)
Yea, but amigo sounds a bit informal and somewhat as if you know the person since a long time, so does chico...
So to clear up, amigo to guys, amiga to girls...
Well, I doubt he meant.. "So GUYS! What do you look for in a guy?" That would just be plain, awkward...
Well, I am German, I can not really see any relation between Germans and Spaniards.. German - French, reasonable... German - English, reasonable... My school is awkward... They teach French, Latin and Dutch.. But this isnt really being of advantage to us to learn either (Latin/Dutch) Id rather say Spanish/Chinese... Theyre more common and chances are that you need them by far greater than Dutch/Latin.. XDD
Japlace - 8/6/10 @ 10:24 PM
Talking bout me, eh? Now im intrigued! ;P jk. But i was born on November 1st :) And no, im not Jamie Cober.....or am i...? lol ;D
Well, Marvin pretttty much answered it. :) Basically (yet far from entirely) you can say Spanish words with an "a" at the end of a word to put a feminine touch to it, and when put an "o" at the end to put a masculine touch to it.
Here, i will write one sentence in English, then write two more in Spanish. One with masculine and one with feminine.
English: It is delicious.
Spanish Male: Es está delicioso.
Spanish Female: Es está deliciosa.
Kinda see what im saying?
English: Its cheap.
Spanish Male: Es barato.
Spanish Female: Es barata.
Lol, i know these are horrible examples, but do you see how the "a" and "o" are male and female? anyways, lol, my brain is falling asleep! ttyl.
Vanessa - 8/6/10 @ 10:33 PM
In your first two spanish sentences you wouldnt put both es and esta in the sentence.
Marvin - 8/6/10 @ 10:49 PM
Well
Instead of using the personal pronoun "It is" you should have used the subject which can be almost any object/name. That would have made it more clear and easier to differentiate...
English: Good Day
Spanish Male: Buen"os" Dias
English: Good Afternoon
Spanish Female: Buen"as" Tardes
Just to remind, it is the plural form...
Vanessa - 8/6/10 @ 10:55 PM
Technically, buenos dias is a contradiction.....it is one of those "exceptions to the rule" because the "os" in buenos contradicts the "as" in dias. But that is the correct way to say it anyway.
Marvin - 8/6/10 @ 10:59 PM
Yep, thats an awkward thing... Buenos Coches :P
Good cars HAHA, for the win example
Sarah - 8/7/10 @ 8:02 AM
Ahhhh... remember when we were talking about learning a language???? I DONT vote for Spanish!!!!! =P
Erm...wow.
@ Marvin. I know Jake was talking to the girls, but I thought he was just sort of...turning "Chick" into "Chica"... ;P
@ Japlace...oh yeah. Okay, you often throw Spanish words into your sentences (eg. Hola); and my friend and I were having a debate about amigo and amiga, so I said I should ask you--or any of you, for that matter...
And then I was talking about miracle babies. =)
Thats all, you silly. ;)
Thirst - 8/7/10 @ 11:10 AM
Actually, the term "Chick" (referring to a girl as opposed to a young bird) actually comes from "Chica".
Yes, its good to be back.
Japlace - 8/7/10 @ 12:48 PM
Lol, well, i usually use the "lazy" Spanish.lol. Its what everybody in southern Arizona uses. (Mostly English, but we are being taken over by Mexico! ;P)
haha, u didnt have to explain yourself Sarah :) i was jussst playingg! Nooo, YOURE Silly Sarah! not meee, ;)
