Hey, so I was thinking about getting some tattoos and I already have some piercings, so I was wondering...what does the Bible say about getting tattoos and piercings? Is it bad to put pictures upon your body even if they have true meaning behind them?

oh goodness. lol. this again. no offense, we just have had this discussion alot.
tattoos and piercings are personal preference. the age old argument about being the temple and not hurting it. and then the rebuttal of "if its for Him, its ok." If you think He would want you to get it, only YOU answer to Him, no one else. pray about the tat though, cuz its stickin with you for all your mortal life.

Where I grew up, the only people with tattoos were really, really weird guys. So...I dont know. I may have a warped sense of tattoos. =D
I dont know...theres nothing in the Bible saying "Thou shalt not get a tattoo", but Brianne is right--it will be with you for life. I dont know...

i have some tattoos....i have a half sleeve of transformers on my right arm, and my left arm i got a tribal chinese dragon, my elbow-umbrella corporation, and my left wrist says Dad and my dad did it

like underdog said, theres the same arguments over and over again, theres also the one of the levitical law saying not to make marks or cuts for the dead. and when any of the arguments are used it gets into interpretation and defense for whatever your view is. i personally take the "consecrated meat argument" for some people it is a sin, but others have stronger consciences and for them its not a sin. its between you and God.
