Love for one Love for all. posted in Get A Clue on 7/23/10 @ 11:23 AM by K.O.H.I.A.H.

I believe it is important to show Christs love to everyone! The people who need it the most are the lost not the saved! If we are only friends to Christians then how will we ever reach anybody? I dont agree with thier bad habits or their certain beliefs, and I make sure I avoid bad influences e.g. I dont hang out with them. But when we are working together I make sure I listen and understand. I hardly mention God, I dont have too. They feel His love for them through my actions, not my words! If they are his they will come around on their own. All I do is gently plant the seeds of love. I thought this would make an interesting descusion,

Sometimes the best way to witness is not to speak a word but to live the life God has planned for you and others will see what you have and will want happiness and strength and all that comes along with being a follower of Jesus!

Amen!

I dunno. I disagree. Dont slam them with the gospel, but the power of the Holy Spirit to prick someones spirit is released by spoken words. I said this somewhere else, but Lot (Sodom and Gomorra) made the mistake of simply living and expecting people to see a difference and take the initiative to change. But they didnt. Jonah on the other hand went to Nineva and preached. Nineva was saved and S&D was destroyed.

Notice I said sometimes not all the time, what good would it do to tell someone about Jesus then that same person watches that person go and live a bad lifestyle and do what the bible teaches not to do, that person isnt gonna be turned on by that but if they see someone actively living the lifestyle by christian beliefs you are setting an example and prove it can be done, sometimes talk is cheap, even the devil can shout out scriptures, either way by word or by your actions you cant go wrong.

Sarah - 7/24/10 @ 8:10 AM

I think we need to do both. Sometimes the only way to get through to some people is just by example, but sometimes its best to talk.
I also think it depends on the situation. If you dont know someone, or they are very hostile to the gospel, its best to set an example first...but eventually we will probably have to talk about it.

But it never works to grab an atheist and hit them over the head with a Bible =P (just an example--no one implied that. =D)

Im with Sarah, you need both. One wont suffice for the other, but people try too hard on one aspect and not enough on the other (usually b/c fear is a motivator to not spread the gospel!)
It was kinda implied however that we should act morally upright as well haha.

Me - 7/24/10 @ 4:18 PM

I agree with Sarah too, we need both, and it depends on the situations.

jake - 7/24/10 @ 6:11 PM

I dont think it should depend on the situation.

Jesus is the light we are the lamps. Place yourself in a position to let the light shine.
