Profanity is wrong. And you shouldnt accept it or be profane yourself. But sometimes you get in a situation where you HAVE to tolerate (put up with) it (like with non-Christians who dont see the need to not be profane). But among Christians, it should not be tolerated, and among Christians, it should be addressed because Christians are part of the body of Christ (the Church) and we should address such things. God wouldnt be profane, either should we. The main thing is to love and forgive and understand truth :)
whoever tolerates it is not you. you should be concerned with how you react towards people who use profanity. but to talk about those who do tolerate it, it really depends on why they tolerate it. sometimes you have to keep quiet ONLY because the person being profane wont listen to you (you should pray for them to see the truth of the matter then). but if the person using profanity will listen, the one should not keep silent on the matter, but let them know its wrong and explain why it is wrong.
it starts out as just something to say, then it becomes a habit, then a lifestyle, then finally an addiction that can only be broken with Gods help. Ive seen this play out in my life, and I thank God with all my heart that He has helped me out of it. Now, I cant stand it and i sometimes try to talk to my friends about it, but they dont want to hear that its wrong (not surprisingly)
well im writing an article a little bit about profanity and other things, but i recall alpha cussing at/about me but no one cared, and i think that hurt me more than alphas cussing.
i think its worse when people tolerate cussing than when honestly bad people cuss.
PERSONALLY, I dont have a problem with profanity at all. I used to hate it because I was taught by my church and parents that it was wrong, but, one day, I asked myself if I truly believed it was wrong. I looked to Scripture, and all it says is to not have a corrupt mouth. I interpret this to be spreading lies (aka rumors) about someone and saying things to people to bring them down.
i dont have a problem with it, personally. its hard being military and NOT hearing it, or asking people to tone it down. when i get mad, ill mess up and say a few choice words, but its not something i do regularly. I dont see it as a sin, but i do see it as a hinderence to spreading His word.
and technically, according to the Bible, "thou shalt not use His name in vain." so technically, cussing is a man made moral conflict.
If people swear around u what can u really do? Especially friends who u r trying to work on spreading the gospel because I tell u what I wont stop hanging around them and working on them, so sometimes u do have to tolerate it! Its the sick and lost who needs help u cant just hang around strong christians all day! What good would that do for the lost? Just my opinion!
it just sounds so dirty, cussing and swearing. Im gonna be honest theres been times where its slipped out because i was angry but were not perfect but making an effort to change is good. so for me profanity is no bueno for me.

Not acceptable from christians mouths! But we cannot control what others say!

Just my 2 cents.

Profane situations call for profane words, simple enough. I dont see what makes the words "bad."
