Lately, I've been coming across a lot of different people in school. Some of them claim that they are Christians but don't seem to follow the Bible at all and/or behave in a Christ-Like manner. They act differently with other Christians than from people around school. But I don't want to classify myself as a better Christian brcause I know that God doesn't want pride out of me, and I just don't know what to think anymore.

I can't speak about school cause I don't go to school, but I often wonder how watered-down one's personal beliefs can be and still be a Christian or until the word doesn't really mean much anymore. Too much of what is labeled Christian looks to me like New Age thinking or something that secular motivational speakers like Tony Robbins would promote. If it doesn't focus on Jesus and what He taught I see little point to it.

Pray for them always and lead by example. Be strong, for the power of the Holy Spirit lives inside you and will provide the strength you need. God will provide the necessary words should occasions arise. But pray for them always. Continue to..

And that's the thing-- nothing good could ever come from us anyway. When we take a look at our lives (ESPECIALLY before Christ) there's such filth. We are truly saved by grace when we see the errors in our ways and how Christ has saved us from the pit and still continues to.
So with that perspective in mind, there's no way TO brag about the good in our lives. If we are good in anyway, it's from God. If you keep that in mind, and remove condemnation, you can see these people through a righteous judgement (which is really just discernment). Some of these people you are speaking of may not be truly Christians. Do they bear any fruit? Your works are NEVER EVER going to get you to Christ-- EVER, but they are EVIDENCE of your salvation. It's through your fruit that people will be able to discern whether or not the Holy Spirit lives inside of you. Pray for them, Brian, and correct them in gentleness. Show them what it is to have true salvation. Reciting a prayer won't get you to heaven, and it doesn't make you a Christian. You have to genuinely mean you are sacrificing your life to Christ, turning away from your sins as you ask for forgiveness, and you have to believe that it's by grace you're saved and not by your own works. So many of these people, sadly, are getting part of the Gospel message, but not all...which breaks my heart.
It sounds like you could have a mission on your hands, Brian! I'm saying a prayer for you. Praying that through God, you can bring good to this bad situation.

Sarah32 said it well. We are know by our fruits. If we say that we are a Christian but do not ACT like one, then there's a problem there. God wants us to humbly follow Him and focus on what His Son did for us rather than our own works.

Last night I was reading in Philippians and came across this passage. It reminded me of this thread. Philippians 3:17-21

All you can do is pray for them and present to them Biblical truths to help them fix their ways. God will judge the true believers in the end, so just make sure you continue to live a Godly life and be a humble example.

A lot of people profess to be Christians because their parents are, or even because they aren't atheist or Muslim. "Oh, I believe that God exists, so I'm Christian."
Whatever they profess, show them God's love; pray for them, and live by Christ's example.

Yeah there's a lot of what I call "undercover Christians" or double-minded people, and it's really sad. But I agree 100% with what Sarah32 said. Nobody is perfect, we are all sinners and maybe these kids just need someone that will lead them and mentor them and teach them how to be a true son/daughter of God. So maybe YOU are that person. :)
