Big Big Problem posted in General on 11/27/11 @ 12:13 PM by PutHisBloodOnIt

Feelings are a big problem among us, and many people dont know how to control these feelings and not let them rule you and change how you act. Feelings are like an imposter and temporary change what you believe and gives you false views on reality. God has certain stories in the bible for a reason nothing is in there just by chance. And one thing we see is that many people in the bible talk about feelings and hard times but also you see some losing faith and some keeping faith. These stories are like warning signs to show us what happens when we let feelings and emotions change the way we think and act. We have to realize we are going to have bad days and feel sad or angry and feel like God is distant but Gods word never changes nor does his promises just because you feel a certain way does not change these things. Feelings come and go we have feelings we are not made of feelings. Jesus said we will have troubles in this world and to expect them but yet we always think why isnt God answering me or feeling distant or why isnt God answering my prayers? Can I really trust God? Have you stopped and think its you thats the problem? And your attitude and the way your letting your emotions control how you think thats the problem? When Gos says I will never leave you he means it! When he says I hear your prayers he means it! Never do you read sometimes or once in awhile I will listen. So next time when your having doubts about stuff think logically and ask yourself if your feelings are affecting what you think is going on, and compare what you think and compare it to Gods word.

Aye. Self control is listed as a fruit of the Spirit, and while we go "oh yeah, make sure we don't hate or lust, just do His will" it doesn't end there. We are chosen for a purpose - and we cannot serve nearly as well without being able to train ourselves to do that purpose, by whatever means.

Training ourselves requires self-control. Start with your emotions, and your actions will mirror your efforts

Amen brother! Let your feelings reflect your actions, not your actions reflect your feelings...I think I said that right lol
