The most important thing you can do is pray for them. Also, make sure that you grow in your relationship with God, and ask Him to help you. As you study the Bible more and get close to God, He will show you ways to bring them to Him. A knowledge of the scriptures is the best tool you can have. Thats why its called the Sword of the Spirit.

I kinda know how you feel lol... its kinda what ive been stuck with right now x-x"
i know its really hard and scary but i suggest that you pray for them and ask God to give you the strength/moment/words to share the gospel with them in love because they need the truth shared with them =] praying for you and your family!

John - 3/18/10 @ 7:30 PM

pray, pray, and pray some more. show them Christs love, then pray more.keep persevering!

first, be separate, be not of this world - they cant think of you as yet another silly pretender who is only a christian on sundays & then just as terrible as the rest of the world on other days.
second, pray & fast for them.
and third, keep your focus on heaven - do not let them get you down. even in the Bible it says that our own enemies will be in our households.

cling to God! :}

PRAY PRAY PRAY to God! ask him to give you favor, grace, and guidance on what you need to do.
HE knows much more than we could EVER think of. SO PRAY and talk to Him.u dont have to knee, and speak in the King James Version to God, but just talk to Him thru out your day as a friend.
Youre not alone Jesyca, this Forum/Website is a great place to ask,and request needs about our lives.
Stay Strong. PRAY PRAY PRAY!!!

yessssssss i agreee with everything said already!! i was/am in the same siituation except the embers in my family are "catholics". yet they rarely go to church anywayss... but pray for THEM most importantly. you can pray for GOD to strengthen you &give you wisdom on how to deal with the situation. but intercession is a way to show your love for that person. &just ak GOD to soften their hearts, so that when you do share the Gospel with them they can be open to it...

&never cease prayer! always always always pray for others &yourself.
in al things that you do in your life, give GLORY to GOD through everything.
Proverbs 3 says
" 5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths."

so as long as you stay strong in HIM &keeep HIM 1st, everything will go the way HIS Will desires.

prayprayprayprayprayprayprayprayPRAY!!! lol for realz thats your most powerful weapon right now.. :) also, surround yourself w/ good christian influences by going to church REGULARLY. church is very important in your growth as a christian and if youre growing, thatll have some kind of impact on your family AND youll be able to answer more questions they may have and you wont be as likely to fall into old habits. youll have people holding you accountable and praying for you and just being good influences and examples in your life and the lives of the people in your family. if you dont go to church, youre probably not getting anywhere in your walk with God. hope this helps! <3

One of the best things that you can do is live your life as Christ has commanded. They will see the change in you and the difference that it makes and that will have an impact on them more than any words you could preach at them. They will wonder and be confused by it and maybe start to ask questions. The testimony of your life will speak louder than your words. And like everyone else has said....continue to pray!

Im there - I feel you. Just honor God. If they tell you to do anything specifically against Him, then respectfully decline and explain why. Otherwise, honor their wishes, however difficult or pointless they may be.

Jose - 3/19/10 @ 5:45 PM

i was the first christian in my family for 6 years...i prayed, fasted, prayed some more and now most of my family has gotten saved and goes to church every week...dont give up, keep your head up high and if you fall get back up dust yourself off and keep on trucking! =)

Jesyca - 3/21/10 @ 7:12 PM

Thank you, all of you, your advice is very helpful to my situation. I believe, at the moment, it may seem hard, but like everything that has happened to me, Ill get through it with the Grace of God.

noelle - 3/31/10 @ 3:58 AM

why dont you just do your thing and let them do what they want?
if they dont see a reason in believing its their choice. you dont need to turn them.
idk thats just me. i think that there is nothing wrong with differences in beliefs it makes people interesting.

Japlace - 3/31/10 @ 8:45 AM

Because if they are atheist then they have not accepted Christ as Lord. and of they havent done that, they will not be spending eternity with their daughter, Jesyca.

I think Jesyca wants to help save her family. not just stand by, and let them do what they want.

Does that make sense? i mean, if you knew something reallllly awesome, and none of your family or friends knew it, wouldnt you want to tell this exciting news?
well its the same for Jesyca. she has recently discovered amazing news, and she cant hold it in! :) so she wants to tell everyone she can. and shes starting with the closest ppl to her.. her family.

noelle - 3/31/10 @ 3:06 PM

Im not saying dont tell them.
Im just saying that if they choose to listen great but if they dont them you shouldnt push it. Maybe they are happy with what they do or dont believe. But its just my opinion. We all can fallow God or not. and there isnt anything wrong with the people who dont. Its just what they chose. But im not at all saying she shouldnt want to talk to them about it.
Im sorry if that how it sounded.

Japlace - 3/31/10 @ 9:13 PM

Ah ic ic.
But shouldnt we be consistent with our fight for the lost?
I mean im never giving up on the ppl who dont know the good news, and even if they do know, im not going to let them die without the Word of God in their hearts.

No need to apologize my friend :)
Youre entitled to your opinion just as much as i am to mine :)
Dont be timid to say your opinion. i mean thats why you and i are on here, right? to get our point across to others. :)

noelle - 4/2/10 @ 1:27 AM

maybe. but they might not feel lost. if they want the message of god they will go to it without needing to it be pushed into they faces. i guess i just have a different view on things as long as you are a good descant person weather you believe in God or not you wont be condemned.. at least not forever. idk.
iv always had different views about that. kinda

i dont really know whats at they end i just think people should be happy no matter what they do or dont believe in. we are all here for such a sort time and it really is so beautiful.

Japlace - 4/2/10 @ 9:12 AM

I kinda understand what your saying. i mean we should do everything in love, right? is that you believe in, doing things with lots of love?

I believe that too. I mean God IS love. So whether i feel like it or not, i should love people. Gods Holy Spirit is inside me :)
But i also believe that we should listen to not only Gods commandment of love: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’g There is no commandment greater than these.” - Mark 12:30-31

And i believe that: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." - John 3:16
So if Go so loved the world, then His commandment of love means we should love them too. AND whoever believes in Him will have eternal life! :)

NOW those who believe in Christ will have eternal life, forever and ever.

BUT those who deny Him will spend eternity in hell.
If you believe some of the things i said earlier, then try to realize this: "...But unless you repent, you too will all perish." - Luke 13:3
"As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!" - Galatians 1:9
Now this is saying those who preach other things than the Bible (in other words not doing Gods commandment) these will be eternally condemned. meaning some will be eternally condemned, and if you do not accept Jesus as instructed in John 3:16, then surly these will join those who are described in Galatians.

noelle - 4/2/10 @ 11:26 AM

yes everything in love!!

i understand and im not trying to say the the bible was or is wrong im just saying i have some different point of views about hell and those who chose not to believe.

Japlace - 4/2/10 @ 4:17 PM

:)
oh okay. what are your different point of views about hell?
Do you, or do you not agree with the Bible?

cool hair btw ;)

Alpha - 4/2/10 @ 6:06 PM

Brownie points to noelle, for not having the typical, unmovable, annoying Christian attitude!
