Scary Situation posted in General on 11/18/11 @ 9:26 PM by Ariel

Okay, so I already know that none of these thoughts are true, at all. But that doesn't make the feelings go away. I've recently been struggling a lot with my weight...Now you've gotta understand, I'm 16, 5'8, and I've been super skinny all my life. I have really high metabolism, and my dad was really skinny too, so it's natural. I decided to weigh myself a couple weeks ago randomly, and I had dropped like 10 pounds from the last time I weighed myself. I asked my dad if that was normal, and he said that our scale is 5 lbs off. Okay, so that meant I had lost 5 lbs, which was a good thing because I gained about 4 lbs in one weekend from eating fast food all weekend. It did something in my mind though, because I've started to really like seeing the weight on the scale go down...I weighed myself today, and in the past 2 weeks, I've gone from about 112, down to 103. I don't eat breakfast because I don't have time, and I've started staying at school for lunch cuz it's cold, and there's no lunch food in the house, so then I don't eat lunch either. Just really super unhealthy snacks every now and then. And then if I work after school I don't eat supper either. It doesn't help that there is just nothing healthy in our house to take for meals, and I'm tired of eating crap. But when I do eat, that's usually what I end up eating. Everytime I do eat, no matter if it's a snack or a meal, I start to feel very sick, like I'm going to throw up. I'm not quite sure what's up or what to do, but please pray for me in this. I'm trying really hard to get better cuz I know this isn't healthy

This is something easy to fix you just need to be consistent with your eating schedule. First off drink plenty of water, water is so important in how we feel and how our body functions. Your growing and your body needs vitamins and nutrients and your depriving your body of it. Just imagine if you stopped reading your bible and acknowledging God and only did it once in awhile your faith would dwindle and you wouldnt feel good, well same with your body you need food and healthy food at that.If your not sure of what to eat or how much or what you need, you know I will help you out!

You can change this, Ariel! I'll be praying for you, too. Take time to eat something even if it is just a healthy granola bar and some veggies. And never forget to talk to God about these feelings. He will always be there for you.

@PHBOI, lol...not as easy as you would think :P see, it's the mindset that I've developed mixed with no good food in the house. I'm really bad with drinking water, ha, I should probably do that more often. I would definitely love some help with what to eat and how much! I've also just gotten really tired of eating, because I'm tired of the same food all the time.
I'm going to beat this!!! Eating disorders have no power on me.
@KingsKid, thank you! And thanks for reminding me to include God in this too, I have a little bit but not as much as I should. I had eaten a snack yesterday and I was just feeling incredibly sick, and God was like, Go eat an apple. And I argued with him! Ha, who argues with God of anyone?!?! But I was like, all our apples are bruised. "Go eat an apple" "But I'm already feeling sick" "Go eat an apple" "I don't feel like cutting out all the yucky parts" "Just go!"
And I went and my mom had bought more apples, so no bruises and I felt so much better after! Why don't I just listen in the first place???

@Ariel, the best you can do is: healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner;) never forget to get one of them not. if you have a eating pattern in it, you'll feel healthier;) (i hope it;P)

and listen to Kingskid;P

After you're done working, stop by McDonalds or something, and grab something quick to eat. It's not terrible for you, in fact it's probably good for this kind of situation

The big problem is your mindset it seems, its takes time and I understand that, but once you start a regular routine schedule it takes your mind about a month to change and before you know it eating healthy becomes second nature. But lets skip the eating healthy part and eating often and view the bigger picture. We are so so so blessed to live in nations like U.S and Canada to have so much food and abundance of it but at the sametime its almost a curse, people have become so i guess you can say spoiled we eat to satisfy our body and we are living like sodom did. Think about how many people are dieing of hunger in this exact moment you read this, probably before your done reading this atleast 10 kids in the world just died of hunger because they have no food and have not prolly for weeks. How would you explain to someone face to face in a country where they get enough to eat every few days just to fight to breathe another day and prolly has not had a full complete stomache full of food in years, how would you tell them your to busy to eat and skip meals in the day they would think your bonkers lol Im not trying to make you feel bad but rather think outside the box and understand the reality of how lucky you are to have food and the resources to keep your body healthy. Keep yourself healthy and thank God for the gift of your body he given you and take care of Gods gift that houses the holy spirit.

@Thirst, ha, Canada+winter+no license+no vehicle=no freaking way I'm going to mcdonalds after work every day! xD
@PHBOI, oh it's definitely my mindset. It's just hard to start eating again because then I step on the scale (not smart, i know) and I gain weight everytime I eat because there's nothing in me..
The sad thing is..that's how my mind justifies it.. "There's kids in africa who haven't eaten for weeks and you're complaining about not eating for a day? Suck it up you big baby." And I know that's a horrible way to look at it! I know, I know. N then I feel disgusting when I eat, and then feel like I'm gonna be sick. Ahhhh rollercoaster lol

Thirst - 11/21/11 @ 5:25 PM

0.0 Didn't realize the no vehicle part... my bad

Ariel - 11/21/11 @ 5:37 PM

Ha always fun :p and I'm too scared to get my license in december!

Ariel - 11/22/11 @ 5:19 PM

I was out with my campers today for supper and I felt like I was going to throw up and like I was gonna pass out...please continue to pray. It doesn't matter whether I eat or not, I constantly feel like I'm gonna be sick.
Your prayers are very appreciated!
