Hey Daisha! First off, Congratulations on your new relationship with Christ! That is so exciting! ... I love to read books by Francine Rivers. Redeeming Love by her is by far my favorite!! Its about Hosea and Gomar from the Bible and about Gods faithfulness, provision, and hope! She also has a set of five short books about five women in Jesus lineage! Staci Eldridges Captivating is also a great one.. Its about the importance of women and our value! My Bible is an ESV version and I love it! Well, hope you find something interesting that you will enjoy reading!

Hey! :)
ummm welll, personally, i find The Message translation is a great Bible to just sit down and read (but its not a good reference Bible.some ppl think its an inaccurate translation, but i know the Holy Spirit flows thru that book! :D)
andddd i always find that Isaiah is and AWESOME book to read. you can start from chapter 1, but i think chapters 25-to then end are MAZZINNN

The Apologetics Study Bible is a really good Bible for someone who has just come to Christ. It teaches you how to defend your faith and helps guide you through your different studies, often giving you facts and information that back up the Bible. As to books if you like novels Ted Dekkar is a wonderful author when it comes to mystery thrillers. Janette Oak is a good romance/historical fiction author. And Frank Peretti is an awesome novelist when it comes to spiritual warfare. I highly recommend his books "Piercing the Darkness" and "This Present Darkness". Those are just a few top favorites if you were looking for something more specific let me know and Im sure that I can round something up :)

Heyyy Congrats!!
An awesome Bible to get is the NLT (New Living Translation). Its in today language so you can understand everything. Also the NIV is a very good Bible as well.
As for books, read, "Crazy Love"! let me tell you, that book changed my life! It is amazing! Another good book about purity and whatnot is, Every Young Womans Battle, and I Kissed Dating Goodbye.
Goodluck and let me know if you ever need anything!

I encourage you to read a book I published this year called Amazing Testimonies.
You can find it at http://www.publishamerica.net
Tyler Justin Gallagher - 3/22/10 @ 2:22 PM
Um... please be careful about what you read. I see some very misleading titles up there... "The Shack", for instance, was written by a universalist "Christian" author who believes everyone will go to Heaven because no one will stay in Hell.
Like I said, just be careful. I definitely suggest getting SOLID with scripture before reading much else. You wanna be able to look at something and say, "Amen" or "What Bible are THEY reading?!"

The way i see it is all these titles up here are better than nothing, and they are very good Christian books. They may not all have a strong Christian message, but the morning paper doesnt either.
I do agree with Gallagher tho, we do have to be VERY careful of what we read, but i dont see a problem with the books mentioned.cuz they are Christ inspired books.
But yes Daisha, be careful of what gets read. If your not sure bout a book, dont read it, and stick with the best selling book of ALL TIME, the most shoplifted item ever, the Living Word of God, The Holy Bible :)
