ive never had depression but it runs in my family, my mother has dealt with depression since i think around when i was in first grade, i suppose my main advice would be theres nothing wrong with seaking help or going on medication if you have to, i reccomend finding a good christian counsler and i think focus on the family will actualy recomend ones in your area, and not to listen to christians out there who will tell you theres something wrong with your relationship with God if your deppressed.

I suffer from depression and anxiety. In fact, I was in the hospital this past week. Ultimately it is the grace of God that I made it through, but God also provided me with the options to get help as long as I was willing to pursue it. And I am not a Scientologist :p

I take it to Jesus. My family suffers from it, too. I just try to wake up earlier, get out more, they say exercise helps, and pray it off. I keep climbing for God. I turn up that praise music!

I used to suffer from it a lot, and still do, from time to time. It's the feeling of utter lack of importance, that I won't change anything that gets me.
Having a set, defined purpose really helps that

I suffer from depression and some anxiety attacks. When you have either one, at least for me, there can be a lot of trying circumstances.
What I have had to do is pray, and just tell myself that God has a good plan for me. Also, reading the Bible has helped me. Usually when I read the Word of God, the Spirit will bring me to the verse that would help me get through. Through God, all things are possible!

i have a depression right now. but i can say, if you believe in God, it'll be okay. i heard an amazing quote from my friend:
in the end, everything will be okay. if not, it's not the end.
for the one's who have a depression: please, please realise that you ARE worthful. you ARE good. really. i know it.
you can always mail me. just ask on my wall. i'm feeling with you all.

Anxiety plagues me at times. It's definitely the enemy though, replaying all my failures and screw ups in my head. Like a cd on repeat. Praying definitely helps. These two verses help me a lot when I am worrying:
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:34 and When I said, "My foot is slipping,"
your unfailing love, Lord, supported me. When anxiety was great within me,
your consolation brought me joy. Psalm 94:18, 19 NIV

I think you really have to be there for the person and support them. Depression is like a trap and makes the victim feel powerless. Sharing Scriptures and praying are two of the big things you can do. And there is nothing wrong with talking about your problems. I think you have to share to start to get better.
