Political Correctness in airport security posted in General on 4/7/11 @ 9:38 AM by PutHisBloodOnIt

How do you feel about political correctness affecting airport security? Do you think its appropiate not to check people based on their religion, looks etc..or do you think that their should be polocies that if someone fits the desription of recent terrorists should not be targeted and checked to make sure nothing suspicious is going on?

I don't know where I lie on this. I'm for profiling, there is a lot people give away about themself by their unconscious behavior but you can't tell by the way someone dresses or looks.

There is a lot people can get away with bringing on planes. When I was a cutter I smuggled a number blades onto the plane with me. I just hid them in battery section of my gameboy, phone and camera. If I had the intention could easily have used them to hurt people in a way no one would suspect. Small doesn't mean useless. But no one ever caught on. Looks of a person really doesn't matter. If it's common knowledge that a terrorist has a specific stereotype then aren't they going to change how they look?

I think anyone who acts suspicious should be treated suspicious.

Did you hear about the story about the group of muslim men who went on an aeroplane who had seats together, then spread out 2 in the back of the plane, two in the middle and two in the front and sat down, they asked for seat belt extenders although none of them were overweight and they each put them under there seat(they could be used as weapons) and kept getting up and walking around the plane, the stuartists noticed there strange actions and told the pilots and the pilots refused to take off and called security to have the men removed and questioned. What kills me is that these men won a lawsuit against the airline for thousands and thousands of dollars for profiling even though they acted suspicious and did all those things on purpose. Now doesn't that make you sick?

Now profiling someone because of their looks and religion is wrong. But profiling behavior is different! I believe everybody should take a behavior analysis class!! :)

I'm talking about profiling on looks and features and also by religion, I on the other hand agree with it, let me tell you why. I am a white male, with reddish hair, who often wears a christian related necklace and I do carry my bible around a lot. Now if the people who committed 9/11 attacks were white males with red air, who often carried there bibles and killed in the name of Jesus, and I was in a airport and was singled out because I fit the same description of those who committed the attacks and was questioned or maybe checked a little thorough I would be happy and would feel safer because of it. I think muslims should feel the same way also! They should be in favor of stricter security and understanding and should feel safer that extra precautions are taking place. Do you think its right if a TSA agent sees a middle eastern man and might seem suspicious but he is afraid to question or better check the man because he is afraid he might lose his job or get sued because of profiling is ridiculious. Bottom line muslim should support stricter airline security, because if I fit the desription of a torrorist of 9/11 attacks I would be supportive, understanding and would feel safer on my flight.

I agree with PHBOI

Take away security. Terrorists didn't cause 9/11, so the danger is LOW. Security is to high. I'm never flying if I can help it.

PutHisBloodOnIt - 4/9/11 @ 7:26 PM

ok just last year someone took a flight to my city here in Detroit, and when they just landed he tried to set off a home made bomb that he had stitched in his underwear and the passengers jumped on him, in my opinion not enough security as you can see there are terrorist attacks happening still all around the world and here. You never hear about all the people or government has stopped who were planning attacks.

PutHisBloodOnIt - 4/9/11 @ 7:31 PM

@ Craig I know you think 9/11 was an inside job so i have a question, do you think Bill Clinton was in on it? Because he was in office the whole time it was being planned because bush was in office such a short time when the attacks happened so there is no way they could of planned it in that short time when Bush was in office, so do you think Bill Clinton was in on it since it was being planned when he was in office?
