Cellular Memory in Heart Transplants posted in Get A Clue on 3/8/11 @ 6:38 PM by Samuel

Scientist are discovering that the human heart actually has memory capabilities and heart transplant recipients are remembering things from the donor's life Here is an essay that I recommend: http://www.montgomerycollege.edu/Departments/StudentJournal/volume2/kate.pdf

What do you think about the theory of a spirit (soul) of a donor staying with the dead person's heart as it is transplanted into the recipient's body?

I'm not sure on the theory of the spirit staying with the heart... I think that it is most certainly possible, but that brings up some questions... is the recipient's soul still present or are they both sharing the same space and if so when the person gets saved... what happens who actually gets saved or do both of them get saved...? But I personally think that the theory is likely incorrect and the soul leaves the heart at the time of death... but that leaves the assumption that the person is in fact dead... think about it... if life can be pumped back into the heart, was it actually dead to begin with?... if that is the case and the person was merely preserved through the heart... did the soul leave the recipient with the heart and the logic and memory just from the brain remained?...
It is a very interesting topic indeed... and in short... I have no idea about whether or not the soul and the heart remain connected... what do you think?

I have heard stories of people getting transplants and then all of the sudden having different tastes of music, food, intersts. And then they do researching and find out there donor had these same interests they recently took on.

maybe there is a reason why God very often talks about this particular body part, then. it may well truly be that the heart contains the nature of the person

That's what I thought

from the article you posted, i think the theory that the soul of the donor staying with the heart as it's transplanted into the recipient's body is highly dubious, especially because it's suggested by James Van Praagh, a psychic.
i think the personality changes from people who get heart transplants are likely due to the trauma/medication that goes with the transplant. it would be easy to lump all of the tastes/personality changes that seem to be like those of the donor together and thus, attribute all the changes to the donor's heart, while overlooking other significant changes that do not relate to the donor at all.
i don't know how memories discussed by the article could have come up, but there could always be spiritual influences... i might edit if i come up with a rational, Biblically-sound reason x]

there are tons of stories of people who take on new interests, tastes, music, or skills that there donor had, not every single things is covered or explained on this earth thats covered in the bible.

i know, it just has to align with it.
like people who are psychic... the Bible doesn't explain "how" they become psychic, but the Bible shows that it's wrong to turn to psychics/participate in psychic acts.
this is the first time i've even heard of the concept of cellular memory, and since the only discussion i read about it was this article, which seems to favor psychics' interpretations of the phenomenon over those of people who are trying to find a rational explaination (for example, "However, because theories involving spiritual phenomena are somewhat elusive and difficult to prove scientifically, many people are reluctant to accept them as truth." is the only reason that's given as to why people don't accept the psychics' view of cellular memory, suggesting that it could quite possibly be true, but from a Christian standpoint, the psychics' view doesn't align with the Bible and thus, Christians would reject it as false.)
i guess i'm just saying that the topic needs more research and not opinions based on worldviews.
all we know is what is happening, like the personality traits/memories that were listed, but i don't think we have enough information to come up with a conclusion yet.
i'm so sorry if anything i said came off as rude, or if any of what i said was irrelevant (i bet a lot of it was hahah...)! i'm not intending for any of it to be interpreted that way! D=

No nothing come off as rude, I didn't even read this article but I am referring to other stories and situations I heard.

oh okay, no problem! that's fine! x]

I dunno the human body is just an amzing master piece which is so powerful, its amazing how everything works, take for exmple the human eyeball and how it works and at the speed it does, or adrenaline how powerful or fast it makes us. Just amazing that's why I don't dismiss things like this but also am always open to logical reasons behind things.
