There are so many things that make us different from the world but at the sametime we struggle and go through the samethings as the world.I could go on forever but I will make one statement that comes to mind that makes us different from others and that is we are the light of the world through Jesus.

The tide is turning
This is redemption's hour
In the midst of the world lost for love
You are all we have now

The lost returning
Salvation is all around
In the midst of the world broken down
You are all we have now

For You are God and this hope is ours

So Father open the skies
Flood the Earth with your light
This is love, to break a world indifferent

Sing

Our hearts are burning
The fire that won't burn out
In the midst of a world that's grown cold
You are all we have now

The earth resounding
The anthem of your renown
As we lift up our eyes
And look to your glory

Call us out let the world see
You are God and this hope is ours

So call us out, let the world see
You are God as we sing

Open the skies
Flood the Earth with your light
This is love to break a world indifferent
As we lift up our eyes
Fill our hearts with your fire
In a world the same we'll be the difference, the difference

So call us out let the world see
You are God and this hope is ours

Our eyes are open
Every chain now broken
In this world we are different
Let your love become us
As we live to make you famous
We're in this world but we are different

So call us out, let the world see
You are God as we sing

Father open the skies
Flood the Earth with your life
This is love to break a world indifferent
As we lift up our eyes
Fill our hearts with your fire
In a world the same we'll be the difference, the difference

So call us out let the world see
You are God one and only
In this world you are all we have now

I was just thinking like...someone who is not a Christian can do good things, can try to help stop poverty, they can keep themselves from swearing/drinking/smoking/drugs/whatever, they can do all the things that we do.
I will watch those tomorrow, japlace. Thanks.

PutHisBloodOnIt - 3/5/11 @ 8:45 PM

yes they can do all those things as we can and are commanded to do, but some di it for there false religion or so just do it for themselves, but when we do things we give glory to God because are good deeds without Jesus are as good as filthy rags in Gods eyes.

Ariel - 3/5/11 @ 8:48 PM

that makes sense.

Japlace - 3/5/11 @ 8:55 PM

Plus, God works in all people (to an extent) Its just most don't give Him the glory for it.

Ariel - 3/5/11 @ 8:56 PM

yeah...i've just been confused lately. Trying to figure stuff out. But that makes sense

Alpha - 3/5/11 @ 9:34 PM

"swearing/drinking/smoking/drugs/[...]"
--Why are those bad things?

Jordan Dean - 3/6/11 @ 3:05 AM

Isn't the Holy Spirit inside of us the difference..?

Ariel - 3/6/11 @ 8:06 AM

@alpha, bad in my opinion i suppose. I don't know, they're all kind of gray areas in the bible. (anyone has any scripture about this, feel free)

PutHisBloodOnIt - 3/6/11 @ 8:33 AM

@Ariel Alpha already knows the answer to this and he knows what our answer is gonna be, he is asking it on purpose, once you have been on here for awhile you learn his tricks.

Alpha - 3/6/11 @ 8:50 AM

PHBOI: 1 Peter 3:15

Alpha - 3/6/11 @ 8:55 AM

"Colossians 3:8 8But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth."
--What defines "filthy communication"?

"But one could always reason that the "kingdom of God is within you" and you should treat that kingdom accordingly."
--And how accordingly is that?

PutHisBloodOnIt - 3/6/11 @ 9:11 AM

over the years you been here you have been given many answers, why do you quote the bible when its a corrupt book in your mind anyway? in response to your verse 1peter3:15, read Matthew7:6

PutHisBloodOnIt - 3/6/11 @ 9:15 AM

ha ha yeah alpha, you should really bring all your answers and ask his new pastor! You will get along great with him!

Alpha - 3/6/11 @ 9:45 AM

With your shrugging off any sort of question, dismissive answers and vaguely veiled sarcasm, its a surprise the whole world isnt Christian! :) I mean, its just such a great attraction! Keep up the good work!

PutHisBloodOnIt - 3/6/11 @ 10:13 AM

aww you cant handle a little sarcasm Alpha, i mean you can certainly dish it out, just a reminder that christians are not push overs.

Ariel - 3/6/11 @ 6:08 PM

wow, lovely conversation -.- lol

Jordan Dean - 3/6/11 @ 6:45 PM

@Alpha

Love you with the love of the Lord =]

Alpha - 3/6/11 @ 7:55 PM

"just a reminder that christians are not push overs."
--A position is correct because it is defended in an obstinate manner? That attitude justifies dictatorship as long as it is strong enough to not be overthrown.
Isn't truth itself a defense against all fallacies? Truth has no need to "not [be a] push over" because it cannot be proved false.
