I've seen that video (or something similar at least) before, it's amazing! I have the verses and refrences written out in letter format in the back of my Bible. :)

i don't like this because it's purpose is to share the gospel with non-believers. this sounds good (mostly) for someone who is already saved, to read, but it's not good for the unsaved, because it is only one part of the gospel, which is that God loves us. the rest of the gospel is that God is good and holy and we are wicked, that if we don't accept His Son, we will go to hell because we deserve that.

also, it's inaccurate because God is not the Father of the non-believers, but only of those who take part in His Son.

there is no call to repentance in this. there is no conviction of sin. it even says that sins are not counted - but to who? not to a christian, but to someone who hasn't accepted God yet. that is very untrue. God does count the sins of every one who has not accepted His Son, and every sin will be held against those who do not have their sins covered by Jesus' blood. also it says that God is not angry. not with His own people, no, but with non-christians, yes He is, why wouldn't He be? if Jesus' sacrifice satisfied God's anger for even those who do not accept Jesus, then it would follow that the sins are forgiven for those who do not accept Jesus also, but it is not that way.

it seems like a bribe, more than truth. of course anyone on earth woudl want to read this and would like it - because it says nothing bad about them at all, and it makes God out to be a pushover, as it commands no repentance and seems to be more like "accept My Son, and we'll pretend you don't have any sins" instead of "accept My Son who died the death you should have because you're a sinner."

i do realize that of course God's offer is merciful and far greater than simply fair, but this makes it seem like God doesn't care so long as you say "i'm with Jesus" or something.

The whole Bible is also meant to encourage and strengthen believers. Everyone, at some point or another has times when they feel down and really just need to know that they are important and be reminded of how much God really loves them. I think this is a great way of doing that.

@Daniel, this was actually very comforting to me. This was meant to be a Love Letter to God's Children from Him. And that's what it is, and it does show unbelievers how much God loves them. I like that it took scripture from many different parts of the bible. I think that repentance is important and understanding that we have sinned and are not holy or anything is important, but I also think that it's important to first stress to a non-believer how much God loves us, and how he made us and wants to use us for his purposes. I wouldn't want to tell people all these rules that they have to follow if they follow God, because that would completely turn them off to the idea. Love is something that all people want, and this letter shows his love for us. It's a love letter, not a letter telling us how to live our lives. It's just telling us how much he loves us
