C28MISSIONTRIP-IN THE WORKS! by andrea statler - C28 Christian Forum Discussion

For those of you that havent seen my previous forum, regarding this topic, let me catch you up. I came up with the idea to have the faithful members of c28 and (most importantly) GOD, have a mission trip to do together, as one body!! :)This idea is in the works, and we would like c28 to be involved as well, a fellow c28 member, Cody, and I are working together to make this idea possible for a month in the Summer of 2011, currently, we have discussed the possibilities of remaining nation-wide, for the simple fact that we want to use the money that were using for the mission trip (that we, ourselves have to fundraise) in the absolute smartest way possible. So, please, if you would like to be apart of this (hopefully) soon to be new c28 tradition, please reply to this forum, with the state you currently reside in, as well as work projects that you are interested in. This is a GROUP thing, I just want to try my best to work with everyones preferences, so please, COMMENT! Thanks everyone!! :)

I wouldn't mind doing anything that we do, but I'm pushing on either helping build something or helping shelters against human trafficking.

I would be interested in just about anything as well, the only things i might be objective to is any indoor warehouse separation of goods.. I've worked in there before, and normally people who are on peroll, fresh out of prison work in there. Overall I just think its a bit sketchy.

New Jersey - not certain if I will be able to go, it really depends if I just started work or not, but I am interested - and I'll do anything really, although I do have a desire to serve in a soup kitchen (did it once before on a missions trip and it was awesome)!

Ok, So I have found 3 good deals on 3 different states that vary not only in price range but also, work projects as well.

1. Chicago Illinois $395 (NOTE:none of these prices include airfare or travelling expenses)
That money goes towards food, lodging, project (For all destinations) supplies,tshirt and other misscelleneous things needed for when we arrive
Jobs include: Home restoration, community improvement projects, carpentry etc..
Ministry Opportunities: VBS, sport outreaches and youth group events.
2.St.Louis, MO $268 (HOWEVER, if we book soonish, we could get a $198 deal p/ person for July 3 through the 8th if we have 20 ppl, or have 13 ppl for the dates of July 31-Aug6, the 20 and 13 quota, is the maximum of spots available, however these are liable to change the longer we wait to book)
Work Projects: Elderly centers, Soup Kitchens, Homeless Shelters and Thrift Stores.
3.Cortez CO, $268
Jobs: Unknown til arrival, however the job 'theme' is minor home repair, cleaning debris,volunteering in community gardens or painting etc

I am interested, and always have been called to ministry. Gods call couldn't be any stronger. I have been apart of and used in mission trips across Arizona, and also Alaska. I feel called to Indonesia, but Im waiting upon the Lord for His will to become (without a shadow of a doubt) evident.

My church and more specifically our ministry team is going to do several trips this year across Arizona. Dates are still pending!

I would absolutely love to be apart of this! I could get my worship team together and have a rally in the night wherever this will be, but we have to, or at least I need to pray and fast and get an answer from God. I want His blessing in all my ways, and so for now I will continue to pray for this ministry and for all of you.

We have to be LED by the Spirit of God. I have a hard time with this, but its true. We cant make something and pray for God to run it, we have to be in tune with the Spirit and be led by Gods will and He will bring in His blessing. So I encourage u all to be praying, and as my friend, Andrea, said the other day we need to desire the things of the SPIRIT. Just be sure to be listening for Him through all these plans, and not follow your fleshy heart, but the Holy, Sacred, and unmatchable will of God.

and I agree with you Joshua, it needs to be GOD led, and Ido believe that this will be :) im praying that we can all go somewhere and really be together through Christ and do His work.
