This is an interesting thing to figure out. I am auditory which means that I like to hear things to learn them. This could be through hearing myself talk or others. Auditory learners also tend to ask lots of questions. Apparently I did that when I was little!! :D So, do you know what you are??

Don't know. I suspect that I am an auditory. From how you described it.

I am very hands on and visual! From sports to craftsmanship show me how to do something a few times and I will learn it very quickly.

It takes me forever to learn anything, seriously... Except when it comes to lyrics or drumming.
CraigSnedeker - 10/16/10 @ 6:19 PM
Visual. I also teach myself.

Can I be "audio-visual"? =P I should be told for best results, but I also have to be shown (and I have to see the speaker to fully understand...)

I don't know what I am. I see the logics that are in things. So, I learn very fast every scientific things (maths, chemistry, biology, physics...), but it's very hard for me to learn history, geography, languages (for English, I learned it by speaking with english people, and going on c28 helped me a lot too :)
I learn also a lot myself (I try sth until it's good, and then I remember how I made it. Like when I restored my house: I tried to make, for example, a wooden wall, and then jumped against it to see if it holds, and if not, I destroy it and make it again differently, until it holds. Now, I know how to build a wooden wall, by self teaching :D

I would consider myself to be a "If i cant't do it, then i will tech myself!" learner. Very precise and exact. I learn by whatever means necessary. Idk frankly! lol. Someone will have to audit me or something ;P

Ummmm... how would we find out if we are audio or visual? Is there a site, like the one where we discovered personality types (I was an INTP)?
Amy - 10/18/10 @ 4:47 PM
I don't know... I'm with Thirst. I'll look into finding a learning style test for us. :). On my way to do so now!

Lol flagged my own reply because iPod screen is so small ( I was trying to edit). Frustrating

There is a link to one.
My scores didn't copy paste well last time. So I'll take again.

Visual, mostly...probably entirely, actually, now that I think of it. But perhaps it depends on the subject....

Based on the link I posted earlier in this thread this is from my highest score
You Are an Intrapersonal Learner
Your mantra: To thy own self be true.
Intrapersonal intelligence has been said to be the road to achievement, learning, and personal satisfaction. You are connected to who you are and how you feel, and you know your own limits and abilities. You often set goals for yourself, self-manage, and reflect on results.
Those with intrapersonal intelligence do well in careers where self-management is important, such as being a writer, a teacher, a counselor, a police officer, or a pilot.
Tips for the way you learn:
Study alone in a comfortable yet quiet environment.
Set goals for yourself, and monitor your progress regularly.
Reflect on what you have learned, and think through new material.
Create a connection between new material and subjects you already know, and gain understanding by finding their similarities.
This one came in at 75% it was my highest percentage.
Thirst - 10/18/10 @ 10:56 PM
You Are an Interpersonal Learner
Your mantra: I understand what you mean.
Interpersonal learners thrive on social interaction. Friends often ask you for advice because you are understanding and in tune with the people around you and their motives, emotions, perspectives, and moods.
Your ability to manage relationships helps you understand situations and take a leadership role when necessary. You enjoy teaching and sharing your thoughts.
Careers that require insight and the ability to read what someone else is thinking or feeling -- such as teaching, psychology, or sales -- would be a great match for those with interpersonal intelligence.
Tips for the way you learn:
Give and receive feedback.
Talk out problems.
Work on large-group projects so you can use your social abilities to divide up tasks and understand all aspects of the project.
Be a part of active learning through mentoring, tutoring, or an apprenticeship. This activity will reinforce your own knowledge or abilities.
Bah. Lies. It says I thrive on relationships with others, when I am more deep and reflective... hmmmm... Although I do connect well with people, it's not what I thrive on.
Wanted to clarify on that on. I got an 88%, so there would be at least one flaw in it.
KingsKid - 10/19/10 @ 2:48 PM
@Sarah Yes, you can be a mixture of two different learning styles.
Okay, for clarification purposes there are eight intelligences, four learning styles, and three learning modalities. Starting with the eight intelligences....they are intrapersonal, interpersonal, naturalist, musical, math/logical, bodily-kinethetic, linguistic, and spatial. Thirst and Amy already described the first two so....:) Musical- the ability to learn thru rhythm and melody, study more effectively when music is played, the ability to play musical instruments,etc...
Naturalist-ability to observe, investigate, experiment, and discover the natural world.
Math/Logical (Sounds a little like you, Yoan:)) ability to reason mathematically, discover abstract patterns, classify and organize, and think logically.
Bodily-kinesthetic-the ability to use one's body through touch and movement to accomplish what is desired and enjoying physical activity.
Linguistic-the ability to enjoy and use language through word games, books, recordings, trivia, poetry, etc...
Spatial-ability to see in pictures rather than words. This includes drawing and design, photography, painting, etc...
I think I am a bit Math/logical and musical as well as maybe a tad bodily-kinesthetic. :)
The 4 learning styles are feeler, thinker, sensor, and intuitor.
The 3 learning modalities are visual, tactile/kinesthetic, and auditory.
Marvin - 10/19/10 @ 4:47 PM
I am supposedly an Intra personal and Logical-Mathematical leaner.
Funny enough, it is almost spot on... Sometimes I just learn things not because they seem logical or the like but just because I don't need to get them in order to have fun, exempli gratia Music, some part of maths (learning all those formulas) and several other things.
