I'm 21. When I was younger, of course abstinence was preached to me. Needless to say, I wasn't a smart cookie. I've been taking a look back and thinking about my past. Purity rings were never a big thing when I was younger. I don't remember having ever heard of them until I got a little older. I've taken a second vow to remain abstinent from here on out and have been thinking about getting a purity ring. Is it too late to get one? Would it be wrong of me to get one?

No and no. It's never too late to commit yourself. Even if you've made mistakes, God can make you pure inside.

You can go and get a purity ring. The purity ring isnt like a crown or trophy or something proclaiming to people that you have never sinned, if it were than nobody should have one lest we become like the pharisees. A purity ring is a sign that you made a promise to God, from this point forward, to stay pure and to strive for the type of lifestyle He desires you to live. It is there to remind you in those moments you are tempted to stay true to the promise you made to God - similar to a weeding ring. There is nothing wrong with getting a purity ring - I would strongly recommend it :)

@RM
You are not alone and if God says that He makes ALL things new then He makes all things new. 2Corinthians 5:17
The ring is a cool idea to remind you the decision of your heart! Remember faith, hope and love; but the greatest is love. 1Corinthians 13.
Father I pray that we grow in the knowledge of Your love and grace through Jesus Christ . Thank You for Your promises. Amen

When we are saved we become new people, we die to our old selves we no longer have to hold on to all of are sins of the past. Jesus took your sins Rachel and washed them away, they are gone. Now you get that ring a be an example to the world and witness with that ring!

No matter what God loves us. And when we find him or renew our faith in him, you are restored. Getting a purity ring may really help you uphold yourself to this. It's a commitment you have made. Every time you see that ring you are going to think of that. :)

thank you so much for bringing this up. I've been thinking about this for a really long time because I too wasn't a smart cookie. So thanks :)

I agree, it is NEVER too late. I made my here on out vow at 21 also, after not being a very smart cookie growing up, and it's the 2nd best thing I've ever done (the first being accepting Jesus!!!) The purity ring isn't about what you've done in the past. It is a reminder of the life you've left behind but more than that it is a beautiful symbol of the promise you've made to God for the future ;)

i agree, it's never too late. God forgives, he forgives everythign and its like he doesn't even remember it because he forgave it so it's not importnat-type thing. :3 and thats lovely that you've recommited yourself. and i'm pretty sure a lot of people end up doing the same.. we all make mistakes.
