PRAY FOR ME! posted in General on 12/25/09 @ 12:51 PM by Hannah Grace

Hey, everyone. Im just really needing some prayer from my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Im in high school, in fact, its my first year, Im a freshman. But Im really having a tough time staying strong in Christ all of the time. Mostly its just cussing that I have trouble with, itll slip out before I even have time to think, and that isnt the person I am, and certainly not the type of person I want to betray. I want to be that girl, that when they see me walk through the hallways, they see a Christian- a person who loves God with all of her heart. Not only that, when people talk to me, I want them to see his presence in my life. Please pray for me!

Thanks you so much for your time and support,

Hannah Grace <3

Hey Girle! Im praying for you!!! :D
always remeber, that You are a wonderful daughter of the most High God Almighty!! He has made and called you for such amaazing plans!!! I know that the passion i can tell by the way youre talking that youre going to effect peoples lives, by just being you and loving them, and being there, Never give up! Sometimes we may in fact slip up but thats when you gotta keep youre head up strong and tell the devil to back off becuse You are a Child of God, And He knows that Youre going too do and are doing amazing things for the Kingdom of God, and he hates that and wants too mess that up, but just remeber God Loves You So Much!!! Keep that fire for God that you have alive always!!!

Set youre school on fire for God, girle!! I know you can do it!! :]
even if people look at you strange, keep loving and living in Him

"Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom.Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up."
- James 4:7-10

"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
- Galatians 6:9

"If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you."
- John 15:17-19

"For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands."
- 2 Timothy 4:12

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."
- Deuteronomy 31:6

"Humble yourselves, therefore, under Gods mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen."
- 1 Peter 5:6-11
"He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint."
- Isaiah 40:29-31

hope that encourged you some, hehe!

Hey you definatley have my support and prayers I know the exact feeling. I was in the exact same position last year (freshman year) i would swear and feel bad, while the people around me were cheering me on I thought to myself, "this is no way to be a child of God" but then all of a sudden i was with a diffrent crowd I now longer hung out with those people I found a good friend who stays up late with me at night and we dissucuss God and our beiliefs but i relized that I was a person who went through the motions and ya know... it makes life pretty darn boring. The life God made for you and has planned for you is greater than any plan we can concoct
it says in Ephesians 1:11 "In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will" so let go of your will and let the LORD take over.

~Keep him close and never let him go~

Andrew - 12/26/09 @ 8:45 AM

oh and also when you do get to the point of where they look at you and see a christian you WILL be mocked and taunted but remember 2 timothy 2:21 "if we endure, we will also reign with him. If we disown him, he will also disown us"
also Revelation 2:10 "Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life." keep strong no matter what happens remember the Lake of fire is real and is total destruction but Gods Love is so MUCH more power full than anything that comes your way he has always been there and will always be watching and proud of you.

~Keep strong,do not fear,He is on your side~

Daniel - 12/26/09 @ 8:51 AM

ill be praying for you too! high school is tricky. its hard to keep any kind of morals when your surrounded everday by temptation, even swearing!
i wish i wouldve played high school differently...just stay on the right path, god will help you along the way!

Alpha - 12/26/09 @ 11:59 AM

Being a Christian and swearing are not mutually exclusive.

Stephen - 12/27/09 @ 11:46 AM

Once the people see the change that is stirring up from the passion for Jesus inside of you, they will want the same thing, likewise, they will see the Kingdom of God reflecting in you and they will want to have the same thing. Just stay strong, keep the fire burning, and trust in Jesus because He will never give up on you

Paige - 12/28/09 @ 7:46 AM

Hey Girl! :)
I will definitely pray for you.
Im a senior in high school and i still struggle with this, and I pray everyday that the people I pass in the halls and talk to will see the true me that I want to portray.
Keep strong in the Lord!

"Being a Christian and swearing are not mutually exclusive"
- Leave the girl alone. Just because you disagree with the fact that she doesnt want to swear because shes a Christian means nothing.

Love you girl :)

Paige - 12/28/09 @ 7:55 AM

@Alpha -
Sorry if that sounded offense :/ I dont think your opinion means nothing.

Alpha - 12/28/09 @ 10:22 AM

No offense taken.
But I dont think she should feel bad for doing something that isnt immoral.

Russell - 12/28/09 @ 10:37 AM

@Alpha:

The fact that she is convicted about it is the key here. God is trying to change her for a reason and hes convicting her about profanity because he has a plan for her later.

Im praying for you!

Alpha - 12/28/09 @ 11:01 AM

But curse words are not immoral. :)
At least, no more so than their offensive(but not taboo) counterparts.

Paige - 12/28/09 @ 11:23 AM

I think, at least this is the way i think she feels, that because she is a Christian, cursing isnt the way she wants to portray herself.
Christians are viewed in a certain way. The moment a Christian slips up and "sins", everyone notices and takes account of it.
Ive been in this situation, and the moment i said a curse word a person said to me, "Paige, did you seriously just say that? Can you say it again for me? I just need to hear it one more time so i can write it down!" And right then i was so disappointed in myself.
In the Bible it talks about watching what you say and not letting evil talk come out of your mouth. And to me, if you feel (are convicted) that you shouldnt say curse words, then you shouldnt.

Alpha - 12/28/09 @ 2:13 PM

"And to me, if you feel (are convicted) that you shouldnt say curse words, then you shouldnt."
-And Im saying that there is no need to feel that way.

There is no need to be disappointed for doing something that isnt wrong. And when people realize that you dont consider it wrong, then they wont make an issue about it.

Christina - 12/28/09 @ 2:54 PM

Hannah that is awesome, I definitely will be praying for you!!!! :)

And Alpha, I had enough. I have kept quite for A LONG time now and I finally figured I would leave my two sense..

I understand that you do not beleive cursing is bad or whatever, but to her IT IS, so who cares what you have to say. If she wants to stop then let her stop. Being a Christian, one of the main things you want to do is please God. And cursing is definitely not pleasing to God.

Alpha - 12/28/09 @ 3:10 PM

"I understand that you do not beleive cursing is bad or whatever, but to her IT IS, so who cares what you have to say."
-I think that people should know what is right and wrong. Apparently, you dont.(Though, I imagine if a Jew came here saying that he felt bad because he had eaten pork or shaved, you wouldnt hesitate to tell him that those things are not immoral.

"And cursing is definitely not pleasing to God."
-Prove it.

Christina - 12/28/09 @ 3:23 PM

"-Prove it"

Matthew 15:11 says, "Its not waht does into your mouth that defiles you; you are defiled by the words that come out of your mouth."

Psalm 19:14, "May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.

"Jesus taught in the Bible that when a man curses or uses profanity it is a sign of evil that was in that mans heart. It is popular today for both men and women to curse. They never think of it as an evil condition in their heart, but rather a small thing that everyone does. These small words of cursing the Bible says, will defile the whole man if they are not repented of and stopped. Cussing and using the name of the Lord in vain causes one to become defiled."

And if a Jewish person came in here and said that, I WOULD NOT say that it is immoral..

Alpha - 12/28/09 @ 3:39 PM

That applies to all profanity equally.
Which would mean that if saying shit is bad, then you better not say crap or poop or even feces. And the same applies to all the other taboo words.
