Why Don't Christians sing about fun topics?
I know we are in the world and not of the world...but there are other things we can sing about other then the same old same old....
I will be the first to tell you I LOVVEEEEE Worship songs.Like hillsong. Israel Houghton. New breed. Ashmont hill. Nd the such
But take for example new up and coming artist like Justin beiber he is christian...nd his songs don't give off bad messages. I don't think he should be hanging out with usher...but he does put jesus first...according to what he said in an interview.
But i just wanted yall to hear this new song by willow smith(will smith and jada pinket smiths daughter)

PureNRG has both worship like songs like Live my life for you, prey, the real thing, call on Jesus, overwhelmed and its all about you but they also have fun songs; Like, What if, here we go again, someday, BFF, summertime. Check them out they have 6 cds including one of re mixed songs

Family Force 5 is AMAZING!!!!!!
They are Christians, and if you listen to the lyrics carefully you can tell they are christian lyrics, even though they dont even mention or say God. They are well-known in the Christian music industry as well as secular industry. A lot of Christian rock bands are that way. SO if ur looking for an upbeat, fun, electronic/dance, hard rock band,and with wholesome lyrics too, then Family Force 5 is the perfect band for you! I love them!!!

I love Family Force 5! I remember seeing them in concert and that was the first I ever heard them and all I kept thinking whas what goes through thier heads lol!!! I think fun songs are ok! I would just be careful on who you support.

Sounds like you want to listen to secular music only you want to call it Christian music as not to fill guilty about it. guess what young people this life is not meant to be lived for your ease and comfort it is purposed to glorify God and worship and serve Him in all things. Fun songs that have a sprinkle of Christian value with a tiny dash of secularism is what the bible details as mixing the sacred and the profane. Hitler called himself a Christian. Joseph Smith called himself a Christian but what does the frut say. In all areas of life your light should be shining specifically your profession. Labor in the Lord.

just because they say "god bless" or "im a christian" doesnt mean anything. the bible says you will know them by their fruit. &to test all spirits. if these artists are singing about worldly things then how is that GODly. idk who or what god theyre singing/ rapping about, but its not myFATHER.
the bible also says he who is not with me is against me. &it says a friend to the world is an enemy of GODs.

dont get sucked into this world again after surrendering to JESUS, its not worth it. trust. the bible also says what good is iit to a man to gain the whole world but lose his own soul. another goood song by toby mac.

I think the simplest answer to your question is that we believe it IS fun. lol singing my heart out to Jesus, praising God... Its what we as Christians do because, its what we want to do, Amen?
I will admit that not every song I listen to sings his name, and I don't think their is anything wrong with that... But I love Jesus, he is the topic that I like to hear about, and listen about, and talk about. He is the reason I live... So its not that we don't talk about fun topics, we just find Jesus, fun. lol... Amen?

I agree with werfromthelight and everyone who added onto what he said. We are called to worship God in all things. And also, I pretty much only listen to music that is directly worship/God glorifying music and I love it. I enjoy worshiping God and staying in that surrendered prayerful spirit even as I'm listen. I receive more joy from that than anything else. Now, I don't think it's wrong to listen to some secular songs that don't speak of things that are necessarily evil, but I do think that it's pointless. And as far as Justin Bieber, he may be a Christian but his life and fruit that the public sees doesn't really represent a Christ follower. I don't think a Christ follower at his age would be singing the lyrics that he does (or at any age for that matter, unless towards his wife, that is). And Angela, God is love and most secular singers do sing about love, but from what I know they don't speak about a brotherly/sisterly love..they speak of a intimate/sexual love that should only be spoken of between a marriage. Singing of love out of it's God-intended context isn't honoring to God at all. It's taking an amazing thing that God has given us (intimate love for marriage and brotherly love for everyone) and skewed and twisted it into the world's view of how it should be portrayed.

&GODS LOVEEE isnt even about the physical/sexual lovee. which is not love at all. but lust in its greatest form. GODS LOVEE is AMAZING. its intimate. 1corinth13:4-8. HE is LOVE. 1 john 4 talks all about GOD being loveee.

Exactly at Michelle secular singers sing about lust. You can twist it or spin it however you want to but it just is what it is. Even the little love songs about marriage are secular position on marriage and not of any biblical backbone. and guess what God is the rock on which we stand and His word (the Bible) is the spine which helps to keep us standing upright. So if its not biblical then its not beneficial. Let us also be clear on something else not everyone who calls himself a Christian is Christian. Christian is not something you call yourself you have to live it out as well. You can call a peach tree an apple tree but if it doesn't bear apples then it is no apple tree. That goes for everybody everywhere. Life is one big produce section everybody has fruit but what does the fruit say. Is it expired and rotte, or fresh and good.

Someone who puts Jesus first doesnt have to say it because you can clearly see it. Do you truly see that in justin bieber. We need to start being real about this and not form our own opinions if they oppose the gospel truth.
