Okay, I could go into detail, but I don't really know what to say, or how.
Basically, I am really struggling right now. I am dealing with a lot of pressure, insecurity, and temptation right now.
These past few days, I have been struggling with sort of half-lusting...and I really hate that. I have never had that problem before, and it is really driving me crazy.
I could go on, but I really don't know how to put it all into words.

God understands you, and nothing is beyond His power. He is allowing this to happen to you - but take heart from that, because He knows that you can withstand it and know that He is using it to bring you closer to Him, simply because He loves you.
I'll be praying.

for advice, simply keep yourself busy at all times, and keep yourself away from anything that may lead to temptation. and when you are tempted, do something that requires your attention to distract your thoughts, like maybe try to empty the dishwasher in 60 seconds or something. but bear in mind that, no matter what, no one can make you lust. you choose it yourself. what helps me is focusing my eyes on a specific point where i won't notice any motion, like my feet on the floor or a chair, and just thinking, "no one can make me lust. i have control over my thoughts. i have full control, and no one can make me do anything." repeatedly.
nothing will *ever* work if - if, you want to lust. if you want to lust, you will even if you half don't want to. you have to destroy all the desires in your thoughts and feelings, or do everything you can to weaken them when you can't quite destroy them right away.
if it's guys that tempt you, keep all guys out of sight - to the best of your ability. i'm not saying wear a blindfold but if you are feeling weak, just stay home. if it is girls who tempt you, do the same. i'm not gonna assume the attitude of your lust, but it doesn't even matter because being in control will make you right.
don't be like me and tell God, "save me, help me" and stuff, cause all you need to tell God is, "stop me" - because it's your own choosing when you continue to struggle with these things. it's your own fault that you continue to have the issue beyond your salvation, so asking God to help won't do any good because God can't help against you, but asking Him to stop you - to be against you, you, not your sin but you since it is your own evil that brings about the evil thoughts, if you bring God to be against yourself then He will really be able to help, because it's destroying (figuratively) your flesh that will set you free from this, and God can help only if you want Him to. there may be no one who agrees, but no one can make you sin. you can stop any sort of sin, you can cease it all through God's grace and strength that He gives.
also, i'd take off the purity ring if i were you, simply because you shouldn't be wearing it yet, as you haven't overcome your flesh yet.
Thirst - 9/10/10 @ 12:19 PM
Daniel, as for that last bit I would leave the purity ring on. It's a constant reminder of what you have sowrn to do (or rather, not to do) before the Lord, and to not take it up becuase you haven't yet conquered it is only going to weaken them in the struggle.
Besides, if you only wear the ring after you've conquered your temptation it makes it slightly pointless, as there is no need for a vow at all, and thus, no need for a representation of it.
Also, to the whole message, are you sure you aren't underestimating Satan? The devil is constantly influencing us, speaking lies to us, and when we do sin it's because Satan convinced us that we should. It's our fault for believing him, and that's important, but I doubt we would sin a fraction as much if Satan wasn't there whispering in our ear.

I agree with Thirst.
Japlace - 9/10/10 @ 12:44 PM
Absolutely will be praying for you!
Sarah - 9/10/10 @ 6:26 PM
Hah, well, it's only one guy that I'm having any problem with...my boss. I don't know. It's really hard to explain.
daniel@seekGodnow.org - 9/10/10 @ 7:04 PM
sarah that's something you should be ashamed of, not laughing... i'd be ashamed to mention it
Thirst - 9/10/10 @ 7:44 PM
That seems to be the difference, doesn't it? How you would react to certain things?
You don't think Sarah is ashamed of this?
daniel@seekGodnow.org - 9/10/10 @ 7:47 PM
laughing & wearing a purity ring, no i don't
Stephanie - 9/10/10 @ 8:19 PM
Laughing is often a sign of discomfort, uneasiness, or embarrassment... just saying.
Thirst - 9/10/10 @ 10:32 PM
Have you ever heard the expression 'trying to laugh things off'? It's trying to ease a tense situation... Which is a sign of discomfort, as said above.
And the purity ring thing has already been explained. You don't have to agree with it, but her line of thinking is probably in the direction I explained it, as opposed to yours.
daniel@seekGodnow.org - 9/11/10 @ 10:22 AM
thirst, can you speak for sarah?
i would be ashamed to wear a purity ring if i am struggling with lust still. whenever i give into my lust, i usually feel ashamed of all my outward expressions of my faith, such as my words or c28 clothes.
and on a computer, on a website, where you press each button to express your output, laughing is much different. in person one might laugh because of being nervous or something, but 'hah' on the computer? please, why do you argue against me for her? no one can speak for her but her. if you think i'm wrong, that's no more powerful than me thinking she's not ashamed. my thinking vs your thinking is nothing, it's whether or not our thinking lines up with sarah's that matters, but this is ridiculous. this is all terrible that i can't simply speak anymore.
and no thirst, you underestimate man's own evil.
