Hit us up, what are your thoughts? Long story short, we are a Christian progressive metal band from Pennsylvania. We have been together now for almost 5 years. We have played for thousands of people all over the country, and seen so many get saved, or rededicate their lives to Christ. So many legalistic Christians point their finger and say Christian rock is wrong or your going to hell for listening to it etc, but im here to tell you, that is 100% bull crap.
Paul talks about this in the Bible when he discussed things that are "disputable matters" (look it up). He is not just talking about meat offered to idols etc, that is an example. Disputable matters, such as smoking, Christian music, the day you choose to go to church etc, are just a couple expamples of "disputable matters". In other words, if Christian rock is wrong for you, and causes you to sin or think of your old sinful nature, then dont listen to it, because for YOU, its a sin. But, for me, i dont have a problem with it, and for me its not a sin. You shouldnt push your belief on me, and vice versa.
As for us, we are going to keep on doing what we are doing, God willing. We love doing shows, we play in around 100 plus shows a year, and growing. You can check us out at myspace.com/myheart2fear to hear all of our music, or we have two of our songs here on C28 for free downloads, "Reunions" and "The War". Check them out.
This topic is near and dear to our hearts, as when we started this band, we were in a very legalistic church, and they gave us the option to either quit the band, or get kicked out of the church. At that time, it was a hard decision for us, because we walked about from a couple hundred friends, and chose the latter option, to be kicked out of the church, and most all of those friends cut us off, and shunned us when we left. It was painful. However, in the 4 years since then, we have grown immensley in the love and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and realize, that Christs love and salvation isnt about legalism, or a list of rules telling you what you cant do. Its about a relationship with Him, following Christ, loving others, and sharing his love.
Peace
