I was just wondering what all your thoughts are on this topic. I know a lot of people don't believe the baptism of the Holy Sprit is for today. This is definitely NOT true! The Bible says "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever." Heb. 13:8 Also Acts 2:14-18 is another passage to read. Acts 2:38-39 says that we will recieve the gift of the Holy Spirit after we have become believers. So what are your thoughts and beliefs?
The Bible clearly says that we have the Holy Spirit. I have seen people give prophecies and speak words of encouragement to those who didn't let anyone know their pain. I've seen people be healed instantly. I have seen miracles time and again, and it would take more faith than I have to believe that the Holy Spirit is no longer with us.

Who wants to india?? :D Sounds fun huh? Who wants a personal escort of 34 battle ships? WICKED!!! What about hundreds of staff to take care of every need? Interested? It'll cost you $200,000,000...... a day. K so must of us can't afford this. But Obama can and he's taking a trip. $200,000,000 a day. can you believe it?
PutHisBloodOnIt: Jesus respected the authorities in His day. At the time, the Romans had control of Israel. Most Jews believed that the Messiah would come and deliver them from Roman control. But Jesus did not come and spread a message of rebellion. Instead, He actually told the people to obey their oppressors! "Then Jesus said to them, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's." And they were amazed at him." (Mark 12:17) I choose to obey my authorities and respect them, because God obviously has a reason for placing them where they are. He knows better than I do! If Obama wants to go to India, I may not agree with that decision, but it's part of God's plan. So I'm not going to slander Obama or try to incite anger against him. However, you do make a valid point. God's will comes before the will of any earthly power, and if my prime minister (yes, I'm Canadian =P) passed a law that contradicted the Bible, I would have no choice but to go against the law. We have kings and lords here on earth, but Jesus is the King of kings and the Lord of lords! Nevertheless, if any authority over me does something that I don't agree with but doesn't contradict the Word of God, I am bound to honour that authority. I may not agree with Obama taking an expensive cruise over to India, but God has placed him where he is, and God knows better than I. Thank you for replying to me! "My brothers and sisters, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring that person back, remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins." (James 5:19-20)

First off I want to say that I am not belittling the bullying and hatemongering that those teens are enduring, but I have to say that the devil is definitely in the details on this. These suicides provide a blanket of sympathy and gay awareness and promote tolerance thus forwarding the agenda for homosexuality to be widely accepted. From the Bishop Eddie Long scandal, to the gay suicides and bullying, to the Jim Swilley coming out there is an influx of gay propoganda. The message of the bible is being scrutinized or contorted and the church is being vilified as the enemy of a "peaceful" society. In satans rebellion against God, he is exalting anything against God. Homosexuality is naturally anti-creation thus anti the Creator thus antichrist, thus the gay agenda is part of the agenda of the anitchrist. I'm just saying.
If I may... The church has brought much of this on herself. We have spat so much venom and hate towards homosexuals that there is hardly any wonder we are made the villains of the piece. Yes, I believe homosexuality is a sin, but I also believe that we need to speak more love and less condemnation towards homosexuals. The only words of condemnation Jesus ever spoke were towards religious leaders. He never passed judgment on sinners, instead saying that "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’" (Matthew 9:12-13a) Jesus came to be the doctor, not the judge. "For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." (John 3:17) The devil is using homosexuality to trap people in sin, but if we want to fight back it must be with mercy, not judgment. Love, not condemnation.

what exactly would you call true love.
Love is a verb. It is not a passive feeling or a selfish desire. Love is an action, it is selfless and not concerned with its own wellbeing. "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." (John 15:13) Also, read 1 Corinthians 13. These are the characterists of love. Read the accounts of Jesus's life: He is love in action.

So some of you on here might think this is a dumb question.. but it's legit. Theres some big fights between people on this subject so i was just wondering what everyone on here thought of it.
Scientific findings that support a young earth are indeed censored. Even non-Christian scientists have found evidence that points to our planet being thousands -not billions- of years old, and they are hushed up. The scientific community refuses to accept the idea of an earth that is not billions of years old.

so its a trend not only on here, but in Christianity in general, to wag ones finger at someone who has differing beliefs than oneself. now im definitely not a typical Christian. i love nature and revere it [it is Gods creation after all. does that mean i worship it? of course not! but it should still be respected], i believe in natural medicine, im liberal [i would have voted for Obama if i had been old enough. sue me], im extremely open minded, and one of my best friends is a Wiccan. if i dont agree with someones behaviour or beliefs, I DONT SAY ANYTHING! i dont mock them [even behind their backs]. i ACCEPT them. ive been chastised so many times [not on here. people on here are very kind] just because i listen almost exclusively to non-Christian music, most of my friends arent Christian, my beliefs are apparently pagan to some [since when has a reverence of Gods creation been non-Christian?!], i know hardly any Bible verses, and im open minded. i just want to say that being a Christian means you have a responsibility to love people. LOVE. who cares if someones atheist, Bhuddist, Hindu, pagan, Muslim, Jewish, or even a different Christian denomination. love them no matter what, even if they hate you. dont put them down. accept them. Jesus taught us to do that, yet i see that the majority of Christians dont. they sit on high horses and condemn others [again, NOT on here]. is that Christ-like? not to me. so please, be kind and accepting no matter who it is.
While Jesus was loving towards everyone He met, He also wasnt afraid to point out sin. Take the story of the woman caught in adultery. The religious leaders brought her before Jesus, but He didnt condemn her. Instead He told her to "go and sin no more." He showed her mercy, but He also told her to leave her life of sin behind. We as Christians are called to be loving and compassionate, but we also have a duty to "go into all the world and make diciples." There IS going to be a judgement day, and youre not doing your friends any favours when you ignore their sin. They dont know any better, and its your responsibility to bring them to Jesus. Dont get me wrong: loving and accepting everyone regardless of who they are or what they do is not a bad thing. Thats what Jesus did: He looked past the sin and saw the beautiful child of God that was imprisoned. But He did more than just look: He set them free.
