Joyful NoiseIll check out that other website too. So about shaving legs Ill be honest it was something Ive never thought about before. I think motive behind doing things are important. Shaving legs among other things can be very vain and really shouldnt be that important. I only shave the bottom parts of my legs and I wish I would of never started shaving in the first place. Because the hair on the bottom part of my legs have thickened and are black and they wouldnt be like that if I would have never started shaving. I know older ladies who would shave the hair off their face and it made it thicker and now that they dont shave anymore they pretty much have a beard. I also had a friend that shaved her arms and now they are way thick and black too. I used to be a really vain person. I even went to the extreme of having my eyeliner tattooed on because I never wanted to be seen without it on. Now I never wear makeup except it looks like I always wear eyeliner. At that time though I wasnt that close to God so I was pretty selfish and worried about what I looked like a lot. As far as shaving legs go it vain but at least it doesnt do harm to your body. I have two guy friends who want to be muscular and do steroid which is very damaging to the body.

Joyful NoiseHey that sounds good! I dont have any ideas right now but If I think of any I will mention them ok :). It doesnt really bother me that I dont have many friends a verse that comes to mind but I cant think of where its at. It says something along the lines of what good is it to gain the whole world, just to lose your soul. When I try to share the gospel with my friends they will say stuff like yeah yeah I believe.... lets get drunk. So yeah its hard to hang out with them because I dont care to watch them drink and I dont want to let myself always being tempted to drink. It is nice to come online and talk to you and the other here at c28 and see that there are still other people who have morals. Morals are becoming very rare. God has so much patience its amazing!

Joyful Noise I really dont have friends who are Christians it sad. When I dedicated my life to Christ, like really dedicated my life I quit hanging out with all of my old friends, Just not into the same stuff. I spend time with my family and the pastor and his wife and that pretty much it. Thats kind of why I get online to talk with others that I can relate to you know?

ArielOkay, I have noticed that youre a real "rules" guy. Why? I mean, I think that Gods 10 commandments are awesome. But why no Christian jokes? PutHisBloodOnItIsnt it funny how we all have some type of struggle in our walk? I have troubles studying the bible rather than living out my faith, I realized one day I tend to study too much rather than working on my relatuonship with God. When you explained your problem and struggle I totally could relate to it, and its kinda comforting to know we all have struggles but we keep on pushing forward and we are not alone cause we all struggle with something. Sometimes I am glad I get depressed feelings when I feel like I am falling away from God, becuase if I didnt who knows how far I would wander away. As long as feel convicted by the spirit we wont slip far away from God. I pray for you tonight, God will here my prayer and in his time he will help you with his struggles.

KingsKidHi. I think I get what you are saying. I still dont think that we should have to go over the topics so much. The people see what you are trying to prove and as you have noticed, most of them dont want to accept it. Or, at least, they arent admitting that tattoos are wrong. Maybe these people are seeking the truth. We have no right to say they arent, really. Thats how I feel. You know, if you havent been raised in a Christian home or didnt have Biblical principles put into you since a young age, it becomes more difficult to accept some of these things. I do hope that some day God will show these people the seriousness of things like tattooing. I seek God and His will, so I definitely do seek the truth as God is Truth. God knows what He is doing in these peoples lives. We can only watch from the outside. By the way, how old are you? I am 17.

KingsKidHi Daniel. I hope you will check your wall. Ive been posting on your tattoos and piercings are *sinful* topic. I totally agree with you that tattoos are pagan and not of God nor do I believe that He wants us to use them to "glorify" Him. God is worthy of so much more than a tattoo! I truly think that you are seeking God and His will. However, some people cant digest the topic of tattoos that keeps getting brought up. I have been following this site for several months now and so Ive had a good oppotunity to observe everyones ideas and opinions. I know most of you all better you know me, so far! :) Daniel, I dont think it is fair to say that most of these people dont seek the truth or Gods ways. You dont know them or what theyve been through, how they were raised, etc... We all have something in our spiritual walks that need work. These people who think tattooing is ok-- maybe thats the next thing God is going to deal with them on. And we dont know what they are thinking about this whole subject anyways. Sometimes people get defensive when they are feeling convicted or guilty. I think the best we can do is commit it to God. Just because someone says that "such and such" is wrong or pagan doesnt mean that people will listen. It has to be the Holy Spirit who is showing those people who have the problem or sin that it is wrong. Just because a person says it--it will have no effect. Gods Spirit has to open their eyes. I dont believe in tattoos and never want to get one, but I dont want to keep telling everyone that they are wrong over and over. If they want to ask me why I believe that way, thats fine with me. But I dont plan on going over this topic a whole bunch. Everyone knows where I stand. Besides there are a LOT of other issues to deal with as well.
ThirstLook, Daniel, I dont like argueing with you, you are my brother in Christ and I love you. But I seek after God and you seek after holiness. There is a difference, and while your intent is noble its not what it claims to be - although I doubt that you yourself realize that. I want to agree with you, and I want to support you, but your judgement is ultimately flawed because it is based on actions, not Christ. We cant be perfect, we can only strive after it, and do it for Him. Please, let us end this bickering and these petty prejudices.

SarahOkay, 4-H is an organization for young people between the ages of 10 and 21. Basically they teach decision-making, public speaking, confidence-building, team-spirit, and other life-skills, as well as the club "project"--which can be anything from training and showing cattle, to making quilts! Um...its not just a Canadian thing, and its not just a rural thing (as most people believe). Originally it was founded to teach city kids about agriculture, but most of the kids in 4-H are farm kids for some reason... I think it was started in America, but I may be wrong on that one. Probably if you Google it, you would get a more in-depth answer. Hope that helps! =) And if not, you can ask more ;)

the_underdoghey Daniel, can you help me out on something? because it is HIGHLY possible im being sensitive. i dont understand why you are so offensive (like, aggressive) on certain matters. i can understand the need to be heard. even the need to be right. but you are letting the need to be right hinder the need to help out and reach others. you attack people on somethings that dont need to excalated to that level. while your information is good, and i love the fact you can back up your arguments, it seems to me that some topics you pick just to have the battle. almost like you are willing people to fight you on something. and sharpening iron means you need to be able to shape also. i have noticed that when you are trying to get your point across you will use direct, brutal, attacks. and yet, when the same attitude is returned on you, you claim foul. however, when someone approaches you about your attitude, someone you respect, you heed it. why cant you just say the message with kindness first, and then if someone offends you, you can talk it out. i dont understand how brutal you can be. on a sisterly note, i am praying for you and your gf. i hope it works out as God plans, and i pray for you and your girlfriend to communicate and strive towards God. You are a great asset to the body of Christ!

RachelIm still on the fence when it comes to college. Ive never really seen a need for me to go and Ive never really had a desire to go. Im still praying about it though; and I have thought about taking evening classes just for enrichment. I do have my eye on a couple of colleges so it isnt completely out of the question. :)

You mentioned that when we "agree to disagree" it still leaves a conflict unresolved. Your right and from time to time that bothers me a lot. But remember that in Christs kingdom, the goal is not to be right, but to make things right. Thats why Jesus took the cross, so that we could be in right standing before God! However sometimes on petty issues that do not deal with the core principles of our faith we can both relax our disagreements and allow peace to prevail. What looks worse? A christian with a bible verse on his shoulder or two headstrong idiots babbling on in vain about something that doesnt even compromise the resurrection of the Christ? Sometimes it is better to make things right and step back. I completely agree that pastors and even general christians are too passive in their beliefs and abilities to go forth and preach the gospel to all the nations. It is too easy to compromise and say that there is not hell, for example, when it clearly states that there is. However do not be too wrapped up on one portion of the multifaceted God we serve. There is a balance to things and a time and a season to preach grace and Gods wonderful patience and then His coming wrath and our repentance."Jesus loves us but i dont know who loves Jesus" I like that quote. I really do, but now what? IF (And that is a big "if") these people dont love the Lord with the conviction that you do, what now? Do you leave them and carry on alone? Or do you sow seeds of love? (Im sorry if thats not entirely correct or if i miss quoted you, but i believe that is what you were saying to the best of my understandings.) Look.... time to be blunt, like we both want to be. If you think that someone doesnt love you, you had better have some good proof because that is a harsh allegation towards another christian . Cause I know that i do. and Im pretty sure that the others who wrote that on the forums do as well. Just because we disagree with you doesnt mean that we do not love you! At all! Even more, it means that we are opening our beliefs and our doctrines to you! Everything that we hold near and dear to our hearts, we are here telling you! You may be pursuing loving your enemies differently b/c the Spirit is ordering a different step for you. Remember that the word says in Matt 7 1-2 "Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."The word says to patiently and lovingly admonish. It is official, I will be going to Pararescue training in August. 2 years of training and then 4 years of active duty. The job of a PJ (pararescue jumper) is to provide medical attention, extraction, supplies, or combat support to wounded, trapped, imprisoned or covert soldiers or civilians. The pararescue motto is "That Others May Live" because they put their life aside for others. I believe this is what God is calling me to do. John 15:13 "Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." I believe in the preservation of life at all costs. I believe in protecting innocents at all costs. I believe giving up my own life for the life of another. After training, there is no chance I will be sent into active duty; it is definite. Most likely, I will spend my 4 years in Afghanistan. Please pray for me as I'm beginning my personal training now and once again, I will be going to Texas for my official training in August of 2012.

Check the oldest bible you have Psalm 83:18. If you don't post that you don't. So supposedly God actually has a name JEHOVAH. The words God and Lord and almighty are just common nouns and not proper nouns so if you think about it god can be pertained to any thing like god of mishcief or Lord as in my Lord king arthur or bruce almighty. But they say jehovah is unique and pertains to god and has a greek translation Yahweh. If you go and find the greek bible translations does it say things that were taken out of our bibles. How can this be true. Well so they say you have a relationship with another person would you wanna be called hey, person, guy, girl,human, or do you prefer your name which makes you unique. They say this jehovah means "the existing One" therfore the one and only god witch makes god unique. Why would leaders take this name out?

yes, God has a name, but we do not know what it is exactly. Jehovah/Yahweh are interpretations of what is written in the Bible, which is "YWHW" - just those four consonants.
but like, everywhere in the old testament, most translations will say LORD where YHWH is present. so like Psalm 119:1, Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD!

well since you are asking, i believe it is not ok at all, and personally i don't like it at all, anyway, even before i was a believer
there are many verses i know that support my view but i don't think i need to cite any because it's because of basic principals/commandments, which are:
1. don't deceive people (make up is meant to deceive)
2. be content with what you have (make up thrives off of girls not being content with what they have)
3. honor God with your body (if you are putting a dab of this here, and a touch of that there, that's glorifying man's efforts to make woman beautiful, but if you leave your face as God made it, that says "my Creator didn't make any mistakes, He made me beautiful")
4. from the verse ariel posted, Your beauty should not be outward (this is a commandment, not a suggestion. so makeup is against this commandment because it "beautifies")
5. do not aim to please man, but to please God (again, most girls wouldn't wear makeup if they were aiming to look good (as in righteously) in God's sight, rather than looking good (physically, vainly) in man's. cannot have both.)
6. no hint of immorality (if a girl behaves a certain way to attract guys, that's flirting. and so, if a girl dresses herself, or puts on makeup, to be attractive, that's also flirting, which is immoral)
7. it is vanity (God doesn't want us to be shallow, ie concerned about such meaningless things that don't really matter, in the first place)

I know that most teens here are Christians and I just wanted to ask the boys, do you like girls that flirt? Well, it's a long story but something's been going on. This girl I knew flirted with a friend of mine. When she flirted with him, well it wasn't a good feeling watching it.
The girl was really pretty and I heard she had boyfriends that were really cute. I think he might like her since she's cute and can flirt. Well, friend that the girl was flirting with was a Christian. I just want to know, do you boys like girls that flirt or are really pretty?
So, I do love you guys, and care about you a lot! I am going to be back on, just probably not quite as often because fighting doesn't do me any good. Anywho, I'm super excited cuz I got a new piercing today! And I'm just thinking...I got my tragus pierced...at lunch...then went back to school, seeing the whole process, I never would've done it before! I still look back and think, wow, I can't believe I just did that! It was fun though, and now my picture :) I like it, and it hardly hurt! Soo, woo! Haha, you guys have any stories of stupid stuff you did that you knew was just pure stupid to do at the time (like I thought this would cause me a lot of pain) but did it anyways?? These stories are always funny :)
