NicoleI dig your display picture even though it lacks your face.
Gods_JigsawThank you :) Its a good keep your chin up verse. Its good to be reminded that were not done yet and that our past is not our future - its very comforting!!
Hi all. I ask that you pray for my mum and her husband as they are going through a really rough patch right now. Also, i really want to make a purity pledge but as i am newly Christian and am already unclean, i worry that i wouldnt be able to up hold it. Please pray for strength? Thank you :)
Hey :) So, i'm meant to be getting baptised on Sunday. At least, i've put my name down as a maybe...but i'm hesistant.
There are things in my life i feel i need to sort out before i get baptised. Like, i've been struggling with the same thing for the past decade and feel as though i should get that under control before i get dunked...but can't help but think i never will :/ I've grown SO much in God over the past year and want to continue to do so, but is it hypocritical to get baptised when odds are you'll still be sinning/addicted afterwards with the same thing as before. Any advice or past experiences? Scriptures?
Thanks Steph! That's really helpful. I guess it just feels bad/wrong to make this public proclamation knowing/assuming that this 'habbitual sin' will still be going on afterwards. But, in the sense of the inward work God has done, it would be severely underestimating the work he can/may/will do after my baptism.
I'll check out the link tonight :)
I'm 21. When I was younger, of course abstinence was preached to me. Needless to say, I wasn't a smart cookie. I've been taking a look back and thinking about my past. Purity rings were never a big thing when I was younger. I don't remember having ever heard of them until I got a little older. I've taken a second vow to remain abstinent from here on out and have been thinking about getting a purity ring. Is it too late to get one? Would it be wrong of me to get one?
I agree, it is NEVER too late. I made my here on out vow at 21 also, after not being a very smart cookie growing up, and it's the 2nd best thing I've ever done (the first being accepting Jesus!!!) The purity ring isn't about what you've done in the past. It is a reminder of the life you've left behind but more than that it is a beautiful symbol of the promise you've made to God for the future ;)

Type in your name and sex, and they replace the personal pronouns with your name and print the Bible. It is really powerful and you can see how personal the Bible actually is.
My pastor preached a great word on prayer today. I was just wondering if theres anyone else on here that struggles to pray? Or maybe found it difficult at the start of there journey with God? Im not sure what it is but i find it hard to do sometimes. I do pray, and i pray often but i can never pray out loud. Figure God knows what is written in our hearts anyway :) But i do find it difficult to pray for myself :/
Ive gotten into the habbit of replacing cuss words with other words like...fluff, and yes i do occasionally cry out Oh poo - but im a quirky 21 year old girl so i can get away with it lol :/
Hey All. So im currently going through the application process to join the Aussie Navy. Ive wanted this since long before i was a Christian but my passion for it has only gotten stronger since. Ive had really mixed responses from it though so just wondering what your thoughts are on Christians being in the defense forces?
Well there are also a lot of us out there that are free and amazingly greatful for the job you guys do. Thank you!! x x x
Jake – I totally agree with you in that there is a distinction between killing someone and murdering them. Thank you, you make a lot of sense in what you’ve said. Ive never felt this drawn to anything before so I’m certain this is where God wants me to be. So I will stand strong in my beliefs and trust that I’m where he wants me…doing the job he wants me to do :)
Daniel L – I can see where you’re coming from, I can understand it, but I don’t agree with it. I do totally agree about the abortion but PHBOI is right, thats not what this is about. But I don’t believe the military is about ‘casting the first stone’ at the sinners, it’s about protecting our countries. Yes, I know God IS our protection, but I also believe that he gives us the ability to protect ourselves when we need to. And we need to ;)
PutHisBloodOnIt - hahaha!! Luv it!
I think plastic surgery is a really great thing for burn victims etc. its awesome that they can have a sense of normality returned to thier lives.
But cosmetically i dont believe in it at all. We were made in Gods eyes after all, and it effects people around you as much as it changes you too.
My mum had breast surgery recently (at the age of 47!) because she didnt like the way she looked. If shed done it for medical reasons it wouldnt of been so bad. But for me its like...she doesnt like who she is, she doesnt like the things that shes inherited - so it makes me wonder what she doesnt like in me and my nan too :S
For some of you who are older what do u think about Christians and ccws? I have my opinion on them just kinda wondering what the body of Christ feel about Christians who get their ccw (carrying concealed weapon) license.
Its kind of like the stroy of the guy lost at sea. Hes in the middle of nowhere in a raft and is prayig to God to rescue him when a boatcomes along - but he sends it on his way saying No,no. I have faith that God will save me. So he keeps on praying and the next day a helicopter comes along..but he sends that away too. "No,no. I have faith that God Will save me. Two more days pass and hes still stuck out there. "God why havent you rescued me? Why have you abandoned me? -I sent you a boat and a helicopter, what more do you want!?"
If youre in a situation where you get attacked Gods not really going to come down and blast the person away. He gives you the means to do it yourself - For i can do anything through Christ, who gives me strength - Notice how its not that Christ will do anything/everything for me ;) He gives us the strength to do it ourselves.
So yeah lol, ccw is okay - so long as its used wisely - sorry for the long post guys haha.
