Wow, it's been quite a while since I've been here; but I decided to stop by for a moment and see how everyone is doing.
Hope you all had a happy holiday this year,
Alpha
Well First off, Merry Christmas to everyone, and first question is, what do you do for Christmas that's unique to you and/or your family?
Second, how do you feel about the Happy Holidays, everywhere? i can understand the other religions celebrating other holidays for this time of year, but thats clearly not the case. for example me and my family where in the burlington coat factory, my dad said merry christmas to the cashier, and the cashier was like "merry chri- Happy Holidays" (this i don't understand becuase he knew we celebrate christmas, but yet he chose to correct himself) another is an ad, by footlocker where it said "Merry Kickmas" (which is clearly refrencing christmas right? not Hanukkah or kwanza? etc.) so it seems okay as long as CHRIST isnt in there.
yeah i knew that. yeah, i know, i wasn't really mad at the cashier, although i do realize i worded it that way, lol, aw, that makes me feel bad about buying stuff there, could you give a link to that list, so i could do the same?
that sounds nice actually.
is there any christian techno / electronic bands? i've been listening to a lot of daft punk, (5 years from now i never would have picutered myself, as i was strictly rock, lol, but thankfully ive been more liberal in my musical tastes)justice, and some dubstep too. as im aware, you don't see much christian techno bands, and i know it hardly matters, they say like what maybe 4 words? lol, but it just be nice to listen to it and know they did this song for god.
I've come across one website talking down about Amy Grant while another poked at DC Talk.
They say that, in general, that Christian rock is too worldly among other things.
What do you say?
lol dc talk is too worldy? well not even by the content of the music they are not worldly, did they even listen the lyrics of dc talk? there are some amazing, honor to god lyrics.
you wanna know a band that i think is too worldly, Attack Attack- compare there lyrics with dc talks, and we'll see whose more worldly.
i actually think the content of the music should be more worldly to get the attention of others, but the lyrics should be praising god- and people worship in different ways, i can't worship to 5 bpms (extremely slow)music lol.

I was thinking about my church this past week, and I was wondering, what is your church's "big thing". Some churches are really into prayer, or music, the sermon, fellowship, reading the Word, etc. My church is definitely very into fellowship and prayer. I'd estimate we spend about 15% of our service praying, plus the church gets together to pray for the community every Thursday for about and hour and a half at lunch...and then all the churches of the community get together to pray once a month. Fellowship is also really big - our services are generally only and hour and a half long or so, because our fellowship time is so important. So what's your churches deal?
Ok we all know what the Bible says on same-gender marriages, but it's kind of hard to fight this topic in today's world because it's a "Free world" you know?
I mean sure it's a freedom but as a Christian, it's wrong. So when I hear about anti-gay places I sort of cheer because of people standing up for what they think is right, but at the same time all the world is complaining because it's anti-freedom.
And I do not support people bulling and name-calling gay people either. I hate it in fact. I hear people (read it online actually) making fun of gay people. wrong. we're supossed to love them.
just saying going to bed now night :p
Those churches are sad, i can't believe them, they make me mad, as well as the churches who except the things that are clearly stated as wrong in the bible. i do not believe they are realy christians, becuase they are no longer following christ, but there own version of christianity.
@PHBOI: i think your're right, whenever i have asked for forgiveness, i was still very much tempted, and i still wanted to sin, and still have -and thank you for that comment, you have helped me comprehend the homo-sexual mindset, which is not different from my own.
