ive strayed so many times, but Jesus keeps pulling me back because He knows i cant live in true happiness without Him. i love music. God gave me this spiritual gift so i may spread His Word and heal people with it, and thats what i hope to do with my life. i also love camp ministry. i go to a camp called Camp Luz in Orrville, OH and it is my second home. without that sanctuary i simply couldnt live. its my hope to work there and reach out to children and youth for God and hopefully make a difference.

Danielleme too. i mean, thats one of the main points of Christianity and its the least practised. most of the Christians i knoware nice to the people who believe the same things as them and shun those who dont. kind of defeats what Jesus was trying to say
any type of singer. im pushing to become and opera singer. i also would love to be an author. and own my own bakery [after i get my pastry chef liscense] yeah...i wanna do a lot lol =P
hey i was just wondering who reads their bible everyday.Id be one to admit that i dont read my bible everday but i should because it will help me in my walk with Christ.
i do. i have those Our Daily Bread things. my grandma sends me those. i do that in the morning. and in my Live Like A Jesus Freak book theres a Bible reading chart where you read the whole Bible in a year. its awesome. so i do that at night
so its a trend not only on here, but in Christianity in general, to wag ones finger at someone who has differing beliefs than oneself. now im definitely not a typical Christian. i love nature and revere it [it is Gods creation after all. does that mean i worship it? of course not! but it should still be respected], i believe in natural medicine, im liberal [i would have voted for Obama if i had been old enough. sue me], im extremely open minded, and one of my best friends is a Wiccan. if i dont agree with someones behaviour or beliefs, I DONT SAY ANYTHING! i dont mock them [even behind their backs]. i ACCEPT them. ive been chastised so many times [not on here. people on here are very kind] just because i listen almost exclusively to non-Christian music, most of my friends arent Christian, my beliefs are apparently pagan to some [since when has a reverence of Gods creation been non-Christian?!], i know hardly any Bible verses, and im open minded. i just want to say that being a Christian means you have a responsibility to love people. LOVE. who cares if someones atheist, Bhuddist, Hindu, pagan, Muslim, Jewish, or even a different Christian denomination. love them no matter what, even if they hate you. dont put them down. accept them. Jesus taught us to do that, yet i see that the majority of Christians dont. they sit on high horses and condemn others [again, NOT on here]. is that Christ-like? not to me. so please, be kind and accepting no matter who it is.
yes, i agree with hating the sin. i dont agree with most of the things my friends do, but it doesnt matter to me. i find a lot of Christians have trouble with that. i used to be into very bad things [drinking, drugs, etc] and when my Christian friends found out, they treated me like i was a plague. i was the same exact person they had always been friends with, yet they treated me differently because i behaved differently. of course they shouldnt have supported my behavior, but they should never have treated me like i was a horrible person. thats all im saying. holier than thou attitudes are awful, yet tons of Christians have it. its just so wrong. thats all im trying to say
and yes, i have heard of homeopathy, but i dont really understand it
I am not really curious and dont need to know, I think what you believe and act on from Gods word is important and more importantly is what is in your heart....but a few people here are curious. So if you want to tell everyone what denomination you are or what church you attend, please do.
What I am curious about is:
* Do you know, believe and adhere to each and every, ---ALL of the teachings and/or rituals of your said denomination? --Are there some you dont believe or understand yet?
* Do you readily accept something because your Pastor, Priest, the Pope, the internet, ect. told you it was true? --Have you tested all beliefs of your said denomination against Gods word?
* Does your denomination go by Gods word the Bible as the only source of truth?
* If you think people claiming affiliation with your said denomination are the only ones who will receive salvation?
* Do you believe any denomination has 100% of the truth?
im very non-denominational and very eclectic as well [within Christianity]. im very influenced by both Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy [kind of odd, i know =P], but i dont follow either one exclusively. but i usually attend baptist or methodist churches because my moms family is baptist [which i was raised as] and my fathers family is methodist. i dont think denominations matter at all
What if christianity was not present in America? What do you think America would look like if christiananity did not exist here? Do you think crime would be higher? Be more poverty due to the fact christians donate more money than anyone else? How would the government be? How do you think day to day life in America would be?
So I just had a meeting with my old luthren pastor (Missiouri synod) and he wants me to become a pastor for the synod... but our beliefs now are a bit diffrent. The synod believes that the pentacostal way of life is wrong that you cant feel God which I now "partially" believe you can (in some ways, but that is for a diffrent time) another thing they believe is that rock and roll and such are bad... but I am totally against that but I am a person that has trouble saying no and really standing up for myself. what I believe is centered around a diffrent church and when and if I become a pastor I want to go with those beliefs so how do I tell him I believe a diffrent churchs teachings over his?
Disqus Global Warming here!
I think its just outright stuid, sorry, but theres no proof of global warming. Past few years weve been getting early winters that last longer. Should be the other way around right?
And I read an speech by a former British Prime Minister, name of Margaret Thatcher, and she said its a cover up for a one world government. http://www.wnd.com/?pageId=113219
sorry, ill reword what im saying. i just felt a lot of bad vibes when i got on this thread. a lot of the people on the thread are talking about liberals like theyre idiots who will eat up whatever Al Gore and Obama tell them. if someone thinks liberals dont know what theyre talking about or are lying, great! but that doesnt mean one should mock them on a public forum. i happen to be liberal, so its extremely offensive for me to read.
but i agree: we all just need to respect each other. i try and watch what i say, so id appreciate it if everyone else did the same. and im not sayiong this in a hostile tone because im not being confrontational at all. im just expressing how i feel about this
I really pray that this site will become a little bit more united. Including myself...Honestly not just refering to how we treat people on this sit but in our personal lives. IF people are getting on your nerves....that doesn;t mean that they necassarily need to change, but rather we need to spend more time with jesus. Because Jesus is humble and meek. I cant stress this enough because so far lolz...two people have left this site...Nd I dont want to ever reflect jesus in a way that he would not like. specially when he comes in his glory.
So i started this thread so we can do some introspection(soul searching)
to see how we can avoid another person leaving this site due to the argumentative nature of it
So drop some ideas in a respectful nd loving way
and bring sum solutions
llol
u know what they say if you are not part of the solution, you a part of the problem
i just posted a reply to a topic along these lines. this site is about Christianity and Jesus, people! lets not get divided over a silly thing like politics or a differing denomonation. it even says in the Bible not to get into petty arguments. its not productive at all and is usually hurtful. we just need to hold our tongues and pray. meditate on the Bible. talk with God. thats what being a Christian is about, not arguing with people who have different beliefs than yourself.
btw, there IS a different between healthy debate and arguing. theres nothing wrong with debate...there is something wrong with arguing, especially with fellow Christians who you should be supporting, not arguing with.
I am a proud Catholic and I was wondering if anyone else is Catholic and how you feel about Catholics.I hope I can answer some questions and clear up some of those "Catholic Myths"!
hey. im currently not really anything; that is, i dont have a religion per se. i wasnt a Christian for a very long time, but ive worked out most of my grievances and have started reconciling my beliefs with that of Christianity. every time i leave the Church, God keeps pulling me back! so i guess im here to stay, which im happy about.
but i just wanted to say that my whole life ive been drawn to Catholicism. i was raised Southern Baptist, so i obviously didnt tell anyone in my family that i felt more comfortable in the Catholic church than the Protestant one. but im seriously considering converting to the Catholic church. i believe all the churches needs to reconcile their differences and come together (how can the Church stand attack from the outside if were not united on the inside?) and i hope to work towards that.
but i just wanted to say i respect you a lot for being so proud to be Catholic. soooo many Christians are anti-Catholic and they can say some pretty nasty things (i know: my best friend is Catholic. we were raised in an area where there were hardly any). i dont really have any specific questions; ive studied all the Christian denominations very extensively (mostly Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy since those are the two i most closely identify with) and know quite a lot. but any advice you could give me would be helpful.
stand firm in the faith! Jesus loves you!
