Galatians 2:20, "I have been crucified with Christ it is no longer I who live, but christ lives in me. And the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me."

1 John 2:20, "My little children, let us ot love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth."

Do you believe we have free will or do you think that everything is predetermined.
God cannot deny himself, and thus he can't oppose his own infinite goodness by making man or angel to sin. But men and angels do sin. So there's free will.

Well..My friend is christian and she asked me whether the idea of not having sex before marriage is biblical or is it something derived from religion. Personally I have many reasons that I shouldnt..Which I most likely will say in later posts...But can someone give me the exact text where it says plainly NO SEX BEFORE MARRIAGE Thank You God Bless
Any sexual act outside of marriage is referred to in the New Testament as "fornication". Look up that word in the Bible and youve got more answers than you need.

What do you think? Should Christians support Obama? I dont believe so. He doesnt seem to live a Christian lifestyle, and believes in many things, and DOES many things, that are against God. He may talk of God sometimes, but hes very deceitful. Take a look at this video for example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0YuYxYOXtI He also supports abortion. I would elaborate on a lot more right now, but Im really tired. I just wanted to create this topic as soon as possible because I just thought of it. Looking forward to your responses!
ABSOLUTELY, we should. Its pretty uncool if any Christian voted for him while knowing what he supports, but its just as bad for any Christian to speak evil of him while hes in office. The only time were permitted to do ANYTHING against what our government says is when they try to cause us DIRECTLY to sin. For instance, if they had passed tax-funded abortion (praise God they didnt), we should still pay taxes. We are not responsible for how they use what is required of us. They will have to answer for that. See, even in Pauls dayChristians were urged to pay the due tax. What was tax used for back then? Well, for one thing, Rome had a HUGE army it needed to fund. What did that army do? Well, many things, from taking new lands by force to crucifying innocent people (take Jesus, for instance). You think unborn babies are innocent? Try Jesus. So, no, we are not to obey when our government tells us to do something against God. Take Daniel for instance, when Darius commanded no one pray to anyone but the king for thirty days. Daniel went and prayed three times a day, as was ALREADY his custom. Take note that he did not pray simply to defy government - it was already his custom to worship God in this way. If he DID wanna defy the government, thats be spite. He wouldnt be worshiping God. He would be sinning. We as Americans in general think that dishonoring our leaders if we dont like them is a Christian thing to do, simply because weve been taught that its just fine to do so.

the murder of the unborn was legalized tonight. pray for America and for its doctors to take a stand against this injustice.
Well, then! I never took civics class, so Im new to the SPECIFIC order of U.S. government. Sorry for assuming that.

Hey yall! sooo im wondering what you guys think about tattoos... I, personally, dont think they are alright. And basically my only reasoning for that decision is cuz we are to treat our bodies as the temple of God like they are, and putting ink into your skin seems like spray painting a church. Dont get me wrong, im not saying those who have tattoos are in the wrong by any means! Thats just my opinion, anyways, tell me what you think? -) <-- thats mr. alien face btw! lol
Well, no. None of that was my opinion. Take it here - Is the law void and meaningless today? Not what I meant - Matt. 5:17, Acts 10:1-16, Acts 15:10,28-29. All that stuff about stumbling the brethren? Romans 14. Note verses 14 and 15. That part about doubting whether or not somethings wrong and doing it even though youre unsure being sinful? Romans 14:22-23. Nope, no opinions in there. And, PLEASE dont gather from this that I think ANY of scripture is null and void. In fact, saved Jews are encouraged to keep the law for the sake of their Jewish brothers. And, Michelle, that part about pork being deemed unclean and the fact that even now we should abstain from unclean things... true. But not necessarily pork. We can eat all the pork we want. And, inherently, there is nothing wrong with tattoos either. Remember Romans 14:14-15. It really is all about your heart.

Help. I need Help. I am recently saved, but my family is athiest. What can I do?
Im there - I feel you. Just honor God. If they tell you to do anything specifically against Him, then respectfully decline and explain why. Otherwise, honor their wishes, however difficult or pointless they may be.

Hey i am Daisha and i was wondering if anyone knew of any good books i could read as a christian walking a new walk with Christ? I am already reading my bible everynight and i love it :) I am also looking for a better bible since i have KJV and i find it hard to understand so i just read the word online. Ok thanks Daisha :)
Um... please be careful about what you read. I see some very misleading titles up there... "The Shack", for instance, was written by a universalist "Christian" author who believes everyone will go to Heaven because no one will stay in Hell. Like I said, just be careful. I definitely suggest getting SOLID with scripture before reading much else. You wanna be able to look at something and say, "Amen" or "What Bible are THEY reading?!"

~Are you into the traditional customs: Hunting painted Eggs, rabbits, candy,Easter baskets,ect.... Or do you do as Jesus commanded?
Thats... kinda what I said. That He used the words "as often as you do them", which could never be said of the Passover. And, hey, if once a year on the Passover is when some people do it, cool. Do it in remembrance of Him. And if once a year on Easter is when others do it, aight. Do it for Him. I just dont get how you can really ask if were doing, specifically on "Easter", what Jesus asked us to do on that specific day. Feel me? :) Naw, man, I dont know a THING about mass. Was not asking about that.

Im new to this board and actually got saved a month ago or so. Hi :). I have a really long question.... I have been stuck on the topic of homosexuality.. The Bible states it is sinful because God intended relationships and marriage to be between a man and a woman. I cant say whether they were born this way through genetic components, through environmental factors, or both. I wonder if it was genetic, why would God make them this way (If they are born this way and cant change, are they stuck with sin)? If it were environmental, why are there so many reportings that changing to become heterosexual is unsuccessful and is actually harmful (they only repress these same sex attractions and are not happy)? I have always been accepting of their lifestyles but now I feel it conflicts with Gods ways and I actually feel that I am opposing Him because my beliefs are different. :( I dont want to judge. I want to be loving but it is difficult to say that homosexuals are wrong to say they were born that way because I am not gay.. Im straight. I am ATTEMPTING to see it in the way as if someone were molested, they learned the abuse. Sometimes it happens that the victims abuse later in life for power and control because they felt they never had that. But they repress these urges because they are self aware that is sinful and harmful to do that. What do you guys think about this matter? I am not trying to offend anyone. Im just confused. :(
Laura... the Bible does not state that marriage should be between a man and a woman. It states that homosexuality is a sin. Your references are: 1 Cor. 6:9; Rom. 1:27. If you read those and continue to deny that that is the biblical stance, youre in denial. Since marriage is something God encourages in general, and homosexuality is a sin, it is clear that God would not consider a union between two men or two women a marriage. Gen. 2:24 Whether or not its a genetic thing (and if it was, it would be the only gene that directly affects choices, so the suggestion itself is a reach), were all born sinners. Homosexuality is a sin. Some people intend to make it less than that, and others intend to make it more than that, but it is treated in scripture like ANY OTHER SIN. Just look at the list its thrown in in 1 Cor. 6:9,10. Im not homosexual, but its not natural to put Christ first in my life, so I AM an idolater. Who cares if youve committed sins of homosexuality? Jesus came to make us COMPLETELY NEW in Him. He didnt intend us to sin, but we were born sinners. He can make us new, give us a new identity... if only we will deny ourselves, take up our crosses daily, and follow Him. DENY OURSELVES. And that whole "they dont choose to be mocked, hated, blah, blah, blah..." Okay. Nobody likes to hang around a liar, either. If someone identified themself as a liar the way some people are proud to be homosexuals, theyd be disliked. If "liar-pride" movement swept the nation, people would get upset! Granted, a lot of people would take it too far. Many do with homosexuality. However, nobody sins because they like being condemned by those who disagree with them. That is NEVER the motive. But our job as the church is NOT to condemn them. Whose job is that? Jesus says that the only one who can condemn them after what He did is themselves. He DOES not condemn them. We CAN not condemn them. They condemn themselves because they do not put their lives in His hands. John 3:18

Hi i know we all make mistakes and i know i am not perfect. I want to stay pure and obstain from sex until marriage but i am a freshmen in college and last semester, i had oral and anal sex with a guy. I now know what i did is wrong and goes against the Lord but i want to know if i am still a virgin still? I would say i am but my best friend says i am not. But whatever i am i know now i am not doing anything with anyone until i am married. Thanks, DMM :)
To account for the first half of my above post, let me say that Ive had struggles in the past that make reading sexual specifics a spiritually rocky experience. To answer your question more directly (though you should still read the scripture), you are (by purely medical standards) a virgin. No technical, baby-making interaction has taken place. In Christs eyes, however, just lusting after a woman makes a man an adulterer. If lust can do that, then none of us are virgins by His standard. And yet, He still calls us to purity in Him. You may have a scar or two more than I do in this specific area, but as far as being the farthest possible thing from a Christ-standard virgin... welcome to the club. :) He loves you, anyway.
