Matthew 22:37-39 "And He said to him,"You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind".38 This is the great and foremost commandment. 39 The second is like it, "you shall love your neighbor as yourself."

hey i was just wondering who reads their bible everyday.Id be one to admit that i dont read my bible everday but i should because it will help me in my walk with Christ.
Well this is weird. I was trying to post this very topic several times yesterday but for some reason I wasnt able to post it.
Yes, I read the Bible everyday. I wanted to know if anyone had a schedule, like chronologically?
Just curious what you all think is the definition of love? When Jesus said love your enemies and your neighbors what did he really mean? I think many do not know the the definition of love and what Jesus really meant.
"Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.
The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him.
In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
No one has seen God at any time; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us.
By this we know that we abide in Him and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.
Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God." --1John 4:7-15
I cant go anywhere with out being glared at by older women. I dress appropiate but it seems no matter what I do they just want to scowl at me. I try smileing at them but that doesnt help. I cant help but wonder if it is the happiness Jesus gives me that they are scowling at.
I think PHBOI might be on to something. In your comment you said "I dress appropiate" ...so do you yourself think it may have to do with the way you dress? If you cant go "anywhere" with out feeling like people are looking at you mean...there could be a reason for it or just you thinking there is.
--I mean why would you feel that only older women glare at you? Do you feel that way about younger women, kids, older men, younger men?
so its a trend not only on here, but in Christianity in general, to wag ones finger at someone who has differing beliefs than oneself. now im definitely not a typical Christian. i love nature and revere it [it is Gods creation after all. does that mean i worship it? of course not! but it should still be respected], i believe in natural medicine, im liberal [i would have voted for Obama if i had been old enough. sue me], im extremely open minded, and one of my best friends is a Wiccan. if i dont agree with someones behaviour or beliefs, I DONT SAY ANYTHING! i dont mock them [even behind their backs]. i ACCEPT them. ive been chastised so many times [not on here. people on here are very kind] just because i listen almost exclusively to non-Christian music, most of my friends arent Christian, my beliefs are apparently pagan to some [since when has a reverence of Gods creation been non-Christian?!], i know hardly any Bible verses, and im open minded. i just want to say that being a Christian means you have a responsibility to love people. LOVE. who cares if someones atheist, Bhuddist, Hindu, pagan, Muslim, Jewish, or even a different Christian denomination. love them no matter what, even if they hate you. dont put them down. accept them. Jesus taught us to do that, yet i see that the majority of Christians dont. they sit on high horses and condemn others [again, NOT on here]. is that Christ-like? not to me. so please, be kind and accepting no matter who it is.
PHBOI said "Well what your friend did was very wrong but if he is Christian and Jesus is his saviour he is already forgiven."
You have to repent and ask for forgiveness first. You are not just automatically forgiven.
I am not really curious and dont need to know, I think what you believe and act on from Gods word is important and more importantly is what is in your heart....but a few people here are curious. So if you want to tell everyone what denomination you are or what church you attend, please do.
What I am curious about is:
* Do you know, believe and adhere to each and every, ---ALL of the teachings and/or rituals of your said denomination? --Are there some you dont believe or understand yet?
* Do you readily accept something because your Pastor, Priest, the Pope, the internet, ect. told you it was true? --Have you tested all beliefs of your said denomination against Gods word?
* Does your denomination go by Gods word the Bible as the only source of truth?
* If you think people claiming affiliation with your said denomination are the only ones who will receive salvation?
* Do you believe any denomination has 100% of the truth?
Many non denominational.
I guess you can call me that also....
~I am a follower of Christ. I believe and put my faith in the only true God, (YHWH) and the one he sent forth Jesus Christ. (I do not believe in them as a trinity of Gods though)
~I used to belong to Church that told me God would let some people burn in hell 4ever. I have tested that doctrine and come to learn that it is not from Gods word, --but a hateful, sadistic, God-dishonoring teaching of man that has turned many away from God.
~I believe the Bible is Gods inspired word and the only source of truth. We should read it everyday =)
~I dont think just belonging to any denomination will bring you salvation. --There is one name by which you must be saved, Jesus Christ.
~I dont think people know everything. But I do think we can know what God has given us in the Bible. It isnt our own smarts that let us know...its Gods holy spirit that teaches us.
~I am not the judge of anyone. I dont try to hate people...I love my neighbors =) ...but I do hate what is bad. Like false teachings.(especially "hell", --maybe you noticed)
~I look forward to the day when all of creation will praise God together,...at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God. =)
[Jeremiah chap 31]
"Behold, days are coming," declares the LORD, "when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, not like the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them," declares the LORD.
"But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days," declares the LORD,
"I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. "They will not teach again, each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them," declares the LORD, "for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more."
So I just had a meeting with my old luthren pastor (Missiouri synod) and he wants me to become a pastor for the synod... but our beliefs now are a bit diffrent. The synod believes that the pentacostal way of life is wrong that you cant feel God which I now "partially" believe you can (in some ways, but that is for a diffrent time) another thing they believe is that rock and roll and such are bad... but I am totally against that but I am a person that has trouble saying no and really standing up for myself. what I believe is centered around a diffrent church and when and if I become a pastor I want to go with those beliefs so how do I tell him I believe a diffrent churchs teachings over his?
Who said "and now were not happy with what they did" Sarah?
As you all know people who are openly not Christian come here too. This is the internet.
I agree with HPanda, there should be some sort of notice of what was edited or limit the time for editing like other forums do.
"we can thanks c28 for considering our suggestions ;-)"
Sure! =)
And thanks to us forum people who come here and help each other and show love to each other and to the ones who design shirts and buy them...and thanks to C28 for making this forum available to us to talk about Gods word on...
but really --thanks to God for all things!
Who am I ? Where am I going to? Where do I come from?
We are the creatures that spring from the love of God our Lord. Our origin is the Lord and our end is within Him as well. Everything on earth was created for us to enjoy. God´s divine presence can be felt in every single detail in nature: a sunset, a snow flake, a star, the trees blooming in spring, the colors of the leaves in the fall, the magnificent trees that cover the planet, the amazing animals that roam the earth. All the knowledge of creation is stored in nature. All the beauty of nature was created for us to have a place to live and grow spiritually.
First the spirits were brought to life and then the earth was created to serve as the material world to all of us, to serve as our home.
Spirits were created to the image of God and within each one of them God placed a divine light which is the conscience. The flesh was created as a useful tool for the spirits that need it to advance in the path of evolution. Once the spirit and the flesh were joined, humankind emerged.
Everything that God does is based on love and justice. Everything that we perceive through our senses and our minds should behold these attributes.
The first human dwellers preserved the image that their spirits had from the spiritual valley: a state of purity and innocence that allowed them to feel the warmth of nature and of friendship as well as the complete harmony among all creatures. When passions and the struggle for life appeared in their lives they were forced to try to find in science what they had lost due to the lack of spirituality they were experiencing.
Who revealed the mysteries of the flesh to humankind? The flesh itself.
Who revealed the mysteries of science? The mind did.
But the spirit was the only one that could convey the idea of the existence of God.
The Lord wants us to have rightful and healthy ambitions, to fight to be strong, great and wise. To be the owners of all the qualities the spirit is bestowed with. In order to do so, we have to practice our virtues: charity, humbleness, forgiveness and loyalty. All these virtues can be summarized in a single word: LOVE.
Life is like a tree with countless branches. None of which is alike and each one performs a duty or mission. It is important to understand that the origin of men is not a sin but the result of a natural law that not only mankind should follow but all creatures and everything in nature as well.
What makes humankind move away from its natural path of evolution are the vices and the lower passions which are against the law. We have to fill the universe with good deeds and pure thoughts.
This action will allow us to grow spiritually and to return to God with our hands full of merits. God emerges in our conscience, rejoices with our evolution and manifests himself in our good deeds. So we must be certain that He lives within us and is willing to help us if we allow Him to do so.
We all have to strive to possess as many spiritual "medals" as possible. To be nourished with the bread of eternal life, to fulfill our spiritual duties and to take advantage of the benefits offered by nature. Only understanding these truths we grasp the meaning of life, of our origin and of our wonderful, luminous end. http://144000.net/english/the_origin_of_us.htm
Isnt reincarnation a Hindu teaching? Like karma or something?
The spirit does not have your personality. It is the breath of life, when we die, it returns to God who gave it to us. Meaning, he is the only way we can live again, God is the only *ultimate source of life....God has the power to resurrect us.(*he has given the keys to Jesus our king)
Remember the free gift made possible by Jesus ransom? If you havent accepted it, if you refuse the gift of eternal life....after judgment day you will be sent to the lake of fire, which means the "second death". ---no more life.
Reincarnation is not taught in the Bible. That would mean there are several resurrections, the Bible only mentions 2.
I agree with the others please explain in your own words according to the Bible, cause I didnt read the website either, and didnt get what you posted.
