Sarah32Hey there Ryan. I was a little curious if you dont mind me asking. I am new to this site and being that I am a Christian and this is a Christian website what spurred you to come to this website and what motivates you to do what you do? What are your goals?

NicoleI was going to ask the same thing Sarah!@Ryan I appreciate that. It still wont change my views but Id rather argue my point with knowledge than with ignorance.
AmeliaAbout your back and forth on that thread, "Science proves God to be real!"Dont worry Ryan, Ive been around this same BBQ a number of times with these same folks on this site. The misunderstanding of the basic vocabulary is, it seems, an insurmountable problem when it comes to these kinds of discussions. They believe they have a "catch all" answer to everything and can undermine everything you say by "invalidating your logic." Its frustrating, but interesting to watch from a perspective of inquiry into the patterns of thought and reasoning employed by more zealous devotees of our religion. But bravo for sticking up for the scientific method!

AmeliaHot DAMN. You really went all out with providing links for refutation of the YEC bull-shoes arguments (this website probably has a profanity filter). Wonder if anyone will actually follow them and realize how outright bonkers and shoddy so many of these "proofs" really are!

RyanHaha well Ive debated with enough creationists and unfortunately as someone studying biology every now and then I have to defend it from certain peoples concept of what it is and certain ideology. I hope they do follow the links because it is a vast wealth of reliable information, Its truly a awesome site!! This site did seem to filter the word out but bull shoes is more hilarious anyway haha.
So I was at Mass lastnight an was hearing the word of God, The Book Of Genesis. ? is this: It said "Now let us make Man". Who would "US" be if it was just God making earth at the time? Also correct me if Iam wrong but Moses wrote the first 5 books correct? So iam assuming "us" would be how God spoke to Moses on how to write it?
Well let me preface this by saying im an atheist so I would differ from you and say I do find passages unrealistic. However when you have different people writing different things then you are bound to come up with certain inconsistencies anyway. I dont find all events to be unrealistic though just the more miraculous in nature, im sure some of the history is correct simply because people are writing about the history of the time and certain places etc. I wouldn't expect them to get their own history incorrect.
Hey guys, I'm officially leaving Monday for training. I'll be going to the Air Force Special Operations Schoolhouse, Survival School, Ranger School, Army Airborne School, H.A.L.O., Sniper School, Air Assault School, Pathfinder, and Navy SEAL BUDs. It'll take about 2 years of training and then I'll be an active duty special forces soldier. Keep me in your prayers please! It was great talking with all of you and I'll try to come on here as much as I can.

Hey guys, if you could vote for me on this site, I would really appreciate it. My pastor's wife came up to me, and convinced me to be apart of this competition. I think it's slightly rigged because I had taken better photos for them, but they chose one of me looking deranged- and not like myself at all. Interesting. It always seems like these things are rigged, but even still, if you could vote- it would be much appreciated.:) The name is Sarah L. btw.:)
Hi guys! I used to be a huge book worm prior to becoming a Christian almost 4 years ago. Now, I hardly ever read any books unless it is the Bible or any spiritual/Christian books. Sometimes I feel like reading something different, like a romance novel or even a non-fiction novel, but I do not want to expose myself to read secular material.. it just doesn't sit well with me. :P
Which books do you recommend that are written by Christian authors but have interesting topics, not necessarily Bible studies - it can be anything. I am looking to purchase some books and get into the habit of reading again. :) Thanks!

Just wondering how you guys feel on the topic and how you would respond if someone were to pose this question to you.
Throughout the Old Testament (look especially in Deuteronomy and Joshua) God instructed the warrior men of Israel to kill off all surrounding territories to claim the promised land. This included all men, women, and the one we all struggle with- children. As Christians, how can we advocate protecting the lives of the unborn when God declared mass infanticide in the O.T.? Is there a discrepancy? Why or why not?
There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his only prophet, if you do not want to suffer his righteous wrath then you should realize your grievous sin and repent before its to late...see it works both ways ;)
Figured I would start a topic, Im not exactly a fan of either candidate to be honest but I was wondering for those that are considering to vote for Romney. Does his rather "unique" Mormon faith make you second guess voting for him? For those of you not familiar with certain Mormon beliefs im speaking about Jesus coming to America after the resurrection, "magic underwear", dinosaur fossils being parts of extinct creatures from other planets, god being 6'2'' and living next to a star named kolob, Native Americans being a lost tribe of Israel, upon death Mormons can become their own gods etc.etc.
Yeah it is unfortunate that most of our politicians seem to have forgotten about their constituents once they are elected into office. I do always find it amusing when they do try to take the moral high ground against each other, in campaign ads or debates.
