I am a young woman in my late 20s. I have been a child of Christ since I was 5 years old and followed in baptism when I was 7. I am currently very active with my church nursery and growth group. I am a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic NREMT-P I use my certification for both career and volunteer, helping those "in crisis" in the community, and serving as Chaplain on my volunteer squad. I have been on a missions trip to Spain and Portugal during the summer of 2002. I'm not perfect by any means, only by the grace of God's son.

I live in VA and my Dad is currently in NJ for a job, he will be travelling back tomorrow. I also have a few "unspoken" (or private) requests for family and friends, God knows those needs. Also, I while I do currently have a job (as paramedic for a career agency), I have put in an application with an agency closer to home, please just pray that if God wants me there that He will open the door. Im not totally sure about all the benefits and such, but so far it will be like having a $5 raise (Ill get paid $2 more an hour and have less to travel so I save on gas and mileage on my vehicle). Thank you in advance.Dear God, to whomever may see and read this, whether or not they send a prayer up on my behalf, I pray that You bless them and meet whatever needs they may have, provide them comfort, courage, and strength, and help them to be a guiding light for You! You know all the desires of our hearts, please make those desires mirror Your own. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.Jabez prayed, "Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil." 1 Chronicles 4:10
Leviticus 11:42 states "whatevr goeth upon the belly, and whatsoever goeth upon all four, or whatsoever hath more feet among all creeping things that creep upon the earth, them ye shall not eat; for they are an abomination." So after reading the chapter and especially this verse, it seems all we can eat is tuna. Why does this verse not apply to us? What purpose does this chaptee serve in God's word to us?
First, in my opinion, you should never take just one verse and make it literal. You should always read the verses around it to get the whole picture. That being said, Leviticus is part of the Old Testament. During OT times, there were many rules and commandments that had to be obeyed in order to make their way to Heaven. Once Jesus came and died for us on the cross, some of these all rules did not necessarily apply anymore. (Notice I said "some" not "all.")
I know I probably didn't answer all of your question, and my answer is totally my opinion from things I have gathered from others through readings, sermons, and talks, but I do hope that helped some. :)
