I 30+ years old, a Christian, a dad, married, and am very thankful to know a forgiving, loving God. I am glad that God carried me though teenage depression, is helping me though the dark up-heaved wasteland of a loved one dealing with alcohol and drug addiction. I enjoy Christian Metal music "theblast.fm" as well as the more mainstream CC Music and old school hymns.
Favorite Scripture
Romans 13:12 KJV The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the Armour of light.

Keiththank you for your prayers, the family does not wish to share her name at this time due to the court case. We appreciate your prayers and fasting. thank you.
Original Prayer Request (posted 2 Years Ago): Please pray for little 2 year old Tanner. I do not know him or his family, but got this request from a friend. The latest tests show that the cancer is in both femurs, head, arms, spine, and in the bone marrow. He has been admitted to the hospital and will start Chemo treatments again. He is in much pain... Please pray for the family and wisdom for the doctors.
No final answer yet, but here is an update: Her dad passed the paternity test. it looks like there are two roads, 1. accept his terms for visitation w/o joint custody or 2. take it to court. My in laws have expressed specific concerns that i am not able to mention. please continue to pray for her, that 1. God will be her mighty shelter and that He will relentlessly protect her. 2.Her dads heart may be softened and accept Jesus as his savior. 3. The family will heal from their loss of their daughter and sister. 4. That God grants the family peace and compassion. Thank you i appreciate the prayers.
Original Prayer Request (posted 2 Years Ago): My sister-in-law passed away last year, she left behind a baby daughter, now 2 yrs old. The baby girl has basically been raised by my in-laws and She loves her pap and nana. Her dad has not been in the picture, until now. Her dad has been in and out of jail for various things. The dad does not like my in-laws. My in-laws are trying to seek custody of the baby to raise her in a loving Christian Home. Please pray that:1. Gods will be unobstructed, and be done in the custody case this September. 2. That the baby will be place where God wants her to be. 3. Her dads heart may be softened and accept Jesus as his savior.4. The family will heal from their loss of their daughter and sister.5. If my in-laws loose the case, may God grant the family peace and compassion, as we will most likely hardly ever see her again. Please pass this on to as many other Christians that you know as well. Thank you i appreciate the prayers.
Something that has been the source of conversation amoungst my Church brethren and I was how to invite Jesus Christ into a relationship. Knowing that we cannot be unequally yoked.
I have a slightly different experience, my mom was a Christian and my dad was not a Christian when they got married, my dad never hindered my mom from attending church or practicing her faith. Later my dad did accept Christ. I tend to believe that this was unique and not the norm in society. With that said, i personally believe that it is not enough that both people profess to be Christian, but that both people are moving in the same direction and have a similar passion for Christ.
I'm starting to learn a little bit about how praying works. Praying is important because it's like communication, a way you can have a closer relationship with Christ. I learned praying also helps your faith grow. When I would pray for God to help some people I know and help him with some of my problems (like how I yell at people that would annoy when I would get really mad), it actually did work.
I noticed because I would listen to worship music when they would annoy me and I started to feel sorry for those people that were rude to me because something bad usually happens to them. When I was praying to Jesus to help me with a sister that got on my nerves, I found out later on that she has been through stuff that I think was worst than what I've been through. My dad got mad at me because of something I did and when my sister talked to me, I found out she's had the same thing happen to her but it was worst. So it was easier for me to not loose my cool around her since I felt sorry for her. I can tell by the things that happened in my life He answered my prayers.
I just want to know the effect prayer has and how God answers them. How does prayers help someone?
speaking just for myself: prayer is a two way conversation. I have different types of prayers. Some times i am praying for someone specific and their needs. sometimes i pray for general needs, i.e. the survivors of the tsunami in japan. Another type of prayer is where i focus on myself and my relationship with God. I also try pray for our leaders as directed in scripture. Sometimes my prayers just praise God for who he is and what he has done in my life and the life of others that i know. I prefer to write my prayers out, it helps me to focus and be more mindful of what i am saying and it also allows me to see what i previously prayed about. Writing them out also allows time for God to bring to memory scripture and other things. You can also read books about prayer as well. Some of the classic authors are Andrew Murray, Charles Spurgeon, Edward M. Bounds. I am currently reading Prayer, the Great Adventure by David Jeremiah.
