Ditto.
Ditto wasn't meant for this topic... lol, anyways... What do you guys think? I don't think what I think is appropriate - it makes me really annoyed let's just put it that way.

Okay, so this question is sparked by the movie "End of the Spear." If you were on a missions trip and you were violently attacked, would you defend yourself with deadly force? Could you knowingly end the life of a person who did not know Jesus? Now, you may be jumping out of your skin at me even suggesting that, but - what if you were at the mall? Would it matter? Would you be able to defend yourself with deadly force if you were not on a missions trip? What if it were not you, but your child/parent/spouse/sibling/friend in any of the above situations? Commence Discussion! :)
I'm not sure... All I know is, is that Jesus could've fought back and He didn't, and all of His disciples did for Him and Simon Peter cut an ear off the high priest's servant but Jesus healed him and told His disciples to stop fighting... And yeah, it says to turn the other cheek. Lol

I mean... Jesus turned water into wine and tonight I had red kosher wine, and I'm a little bit tipsy right now. The Bible does warn us against "drunkenness," but what is drunkenness? Past tipsy?
Thanks for your opinions, everyone :) Japlace - About having parents drinking and their kids following... my dad is a pastor, and he NEVER had a drop as us kids were growing up... However, my two older brothers grew up to be drug addicts... they chose that on their own, but I do agree with you (I just don't think it's 100% in every case) - I know a lot of people who had alcoholic parents and they grew up very depressed and such. Also, when I drink, even if it's just a glass, I don't drive or do anything illegal or anything that is unpleasing to God. And just because Jesus turned water into wine years ago doesn't mean that it's sinful to drink a few glasses now. It's fine if you don't see a point, that's good, and yes I agree that times have changed BUT we're "not of this world..." Therefore, I don't conform to drinking and driving and going out in bad places where violence and guns might be around. Not only is that against the law, but it's also very un-Christlike... And just to point out - I live in Canada and guns are seldomly around... In conclusion, I have self-control when I drink so it doesn't lead to bad things, however, I know that even some of the best of Christians don't and that's AWESOME that they stay away from it. Everyone's body and spirit reacts differently. OH and I only drink during celebrations/family gatherings... which I believe is acceptable - Jesus turned water into wine at a wedding. I think if you're drinking just to "feel" something or drinking alone in boredom/depression, that's a problem.

"Now," Pickles started, "There has been some talk about hockey around here." She glared and PHBOI, "But I propose that baseball is WAY better." She waved her hand dismissivly, "Discuss."
I don't watch baseball, but it's soo fun to play!! :)

I was just wondering what your favorite Christian song(or one of them) is and why it is your favorite? Also, do you think that listening to secular music a bad idea? For example a song that does not have any bad words or anything bad but it is secular and does not point your heart to God.
I don't like to listen to anything that isn't labelled "Christian..." I only support bands that are FOR Jesus!! There's AMAZING rock music out there by Christian artists... I absolutely LOVE Decyfer Down, RED, Skillet, Thousand Foot Krutch, and many more... However, I do acknowledge the talent that non-Christian rock artists have, they're gifted, but I certainly DO NOT like the fact that they don't use their gifts for the One that gave them to them... and that they deny Christ. Baseball season is well on their way which means summer is almost here and also the NHL play offs! Nothing like the April/May season for sports. Top 3 teams in the west are by points is Vancouver,Detroit, San Jose and for the East Washington,Boston,Philadelphia should be a great run for the cup. Who is your team your rooting for the cup?
Not me, the Oilers didn't make it :(

still battle with trying not to be who you used to be? and what always makes you feel better and makes it easier I know I do some days.. lately its been most days.. The only thing that helps is knowing I'm not alone not only with God but with my brothers and sisters in Christ by my side..
Sin is an everyday battle, however, because we have the Lord now it becomes easier!! It never fully goes away until we get to Heaven, but Christ is strong, loving, forgiving and if we look up to Him and His example every single day (strive to be like Him), we can more easily put death to the past "us" :)

Do you believe that everything is black - or - white, or do you believe in shades of grey? Do you believe it's either of God or of the devil, or do you believe there's a middle ground? The holy spirit has recently been teaching me on this subject, and I have my own view about it but first I'd really love to hear what you guys have to say about it.
