My name is Nathanael Ward and I'm a recent graduate from Refuge School of Ministry, hence the handle. I've recently stepped into full time ministry as a Youth Pastor in Pagosa Springs, CO. I currently own and operate a small design company on the side, Remnant Graphics (www.remant-graphics.com) that serves to provide affordable and professional design. On a side note, many of my prior designs were submitted a long time ago when I first showed interest in design and do not adequately reflect my recent work. Please refer to my online portfolio via the above URL for current examples.

c mhey man, thanks for the comment. typography is sort of a disease that i have contracted over the years that haunts me at night. but can't say i don't enjoy it. as for your designs, i think you have a good idea, i would suggest staying away from the typical grungy dafont.com fonts and use your own grunge textures. those grungy fonts fail when there's 2 of the same letter next to each other and they have the same chunks taken out. the more subtle and realistic, the better. also, ask yourself why is it grungy? for example, it could be in order to replicate being an old and washed tee, in which case you would pick a texture that would replicate that. don't just pick a random grungy texture for the sake of a grungy texture. it should always serve a purpose. being a bit more specific, i notice you used a sort of stain-like maybe water color splash texture on your "god is love" tee. while it looks nice, it doesn't serve much purpose. i would have done another white or colored layer of the texture on top of the letters to give the effect that you actually painted the type (check this out to see what i mean: http://www.presidiacreative.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/watercolor-textures-ii.jpg). so basically, i think you have a good eye, but could take things to the next level by putting more thought behind why you pick certain things. hope this makes sense, keep designing.

sophieHi there! Got your God is Love tshirt, and it rocks!! Makes me proud to be seen putting the word out there. Design is fantastic, like the kinda distressed font, and the the 2 sided message. And the fit is fantastic. Good work mate.

Ray BacaHi Beans! I really enjoy your designs! Keep em coming. You just never know what the Holy Spirit will inspire in you next!
Michael MFor my shirt templates... if you are talking about the shirts by themselves, those come with the Canvas Submission Kit you can download from the site, but if you are talking about the model style pictures of a person wearing the shirt those are actually pictures of me and my wife that we took of each other with my digital camera. We just snap some really informal pics of each other… nothing grand (no special lighting, makeup, etc,). I then take them into Photoshop and cut them out and drop the shirt design on them. Mind you the process takes a little while, but I have fun doing it. If you have a digital camera and photo editing software to cut things out with then you could try doing the same. I would be happy to give you any guidance or tips you need. On the note of getting better… your work improves with each entry. I really liked the last design you submitted. It was definitely eye catching. God Bless!
