KingsKid Hi there! What is your favourite Bible verse? I like many, but a couple of my all-time favourites are Heb. 13:8 and Nahum 1:7.

Hi guys! I used to be a huge book worm prior to becoming a Christian almost 4 years ago. Now, I hardly ever read any books unless it is the Bible or any spiritual/Christian books. Sometimes I feel like reading something different, like a romance novel or even a non-fiction novel, but I do not want to expose myself to read secular material.. it just doesn't sit well with me. :P Which books do you recommend that are written by Christian authors but have interesting topics, not necessarily Bible studies - it can be anything. I am looking to purchase some books and get into the habit of reading again. :) Thanks!
Thank you, everyone! I'll definitely look into all of your wonderful recommendations :D. I'm excited to purchase new books hehehe. :)

Hi everyone. First of all I just wanted to thank you all for encouraging me the times I've needed prayer/advice, it's really helped me a lot. I feel really burdened about something that is going on at home, and I have no one to talk to about this, and it's something I don't talk about to others. I live at home with my single mom, 6 yr old brother, and 24 year old sister. For years we have struggled financially, we lost our home and business and now we are still doing bad financially. My sister has a job and I have a part time job working retail. My mom is an incredible mom and she's amazing, but she doesn't work. I really don't want to be rude but she hasn't had a job in years and my sister and I have to struggle to make ends meet. She did have some inheritance money she received (it wasn't much) but it did help us with some debts and bills, but now the money is all gone. The bills are piling up, we owe the rent, and my sister and I are not doing well in school because we can't focus, we're always thinking about how to make more money. I don't know how to tell my mom to find a job, she says she wants to work, but she doesn't apply to any jobs unless I do it for her. She doesn't speak English very well and I know that is a major setback, but if only she could find a part time it would help out so much. Every time we bring up the subject she gets mad and calls us ungrateful (and I do admit that maybe it's true) and that she has supported us all our lives. But the bills have to be paid and I don't make that much money and neither does my sister. My mom always says that "God will provide" and so she does not work because she has to take care of my little brother, which is true.. but I'm afraid of one day moving out of the house when I get married and leaving my mom alone, because I don't know how she will support herself. I'm worried and anxious all the time and I need some prayer and advice on what to do. Thank you in advance!
Thank you all!

Target??!!?!?! For real guys!! I cannot go in that store without purchasing something!! They always get me!! I am so weak! It's like my guilty pleasure! I seriously find myself wanting to go to Target and trying to scan for any possible "needs" I may have that would warrant the trip! Does anyone else have this problem?? I am so addicted.
Well I never go to Target (I really don't know why!) but that happens to me A LOT at Wal-Mart. Every time I go I spend at least $50 there, it's really bad.

Lately, I've been coming across a lot of different people in school. Some of them claim that they are Christians but don't seem to follow the Bible at all and/or behave in a Christ-Like manner. They act differently with other Christians than from people around school. But I don't want to classify myself as a better Christian brcause I know that God doesn't want pride out of me, and I just don't know what to think anymore.
Yeah there's a lot of what I call "undercover Christians" or double-minded people, and it's really sad. But I agree 100% with what Sarah32 said. Nobody is perfect, we are all sinners and maybe these kids just need someone that will lead them and mentor them and teach them how to be a true son/daughter of God. So maybe YOU are that person. :)

Lately I've been having a dilemma that I've been keeping to myself. I am 20 years old and I wish I was at least 2 years younger. I feel like I have wasted the years of my youth and I can't get them back. I'm embarassed to say that I'm 20 and I don't even have a driver's license and don't own a car, there are so many people my age who already have college degrees and are married and live on their own. I feel like the years are passing me by and honestly, I'm afraid of growing up. I am ashamed that all I have is an associate's degree and I'm still looked at as if I were a 16 year old. I also don't want to waste my years and end up disappointing God. My BIGGEST fear is to waste my gifts and talents. I desperately want to fulfill my purpose here on earth but it's already a quarter of my life and I haven't done anything!!! :/
I forgot to add that I will be 21 soon

I'm 20 years old and I've been praying for my future husband since I was about 16. I'll admit that I'm not really consistent in praying for that specifically, since I go through seasons where I'll pray for him LOTS, and then other seasons where I kind of forget and just pray for other things. But lately my mom has really been bugging me about starting to pray for my future husband every day. I think it's kind of cool to tell him that I've been praying for him when I DO meet him, especially since I've never had a boyfriend before and I don't really have any crushes. I go to a huge church but I know a lot of people, but none of the guys really call my attention. Anyway, for the single folks, do any of you pray for you future wives/husbands? If not, then you should! *tsk tsk* Lol.
@Needy Servant: do you have a mentor or someone that holds you accountable? It's imperative that you seek wisdom and advice from this person, because although God may speak to you directly, He will ALWAYS confirm it with your mentor first. Ask your pastor/parents/mentors anyone that is credible and godly for advice and if it positive, ask for their BLESSING. The moment you know she is the one you will marry, ask every single person that you know to give you their blessing. That way, no one can curse your marriage afterwards, for they already blessed it :) I will definitely pray for you!

I just purchased it right now through ebay for only $10. :) :) :) I have only heard a few songs but I know it's going to be amazing to worship to this CD and also use it at my weekly bible studies! I'm just so excited hehe. What are your thoughts? What are your favorite songs from the CD?

Its come to my attention and from my own experience that a lot of people are waiting on God to do this huge thing in their life like magically get money and go to Honduras and preach and disciple or waiting to run this huge charity feeding thousands of people. Well I got news for you while your waiting life and opportunity is passing you by. We are instructed to go out to preach and serve people aether they wanna hear Gods word or not and we are commanded to love which is an action which means we need to get to work. Now your prolly saying I wanna do great things and witness and travel the world that's great and you should and you can but you must crawl before you walk and walk before you run. So start somewhere while your waiting like go and cutting someones grass who can't like the elderly go clean their yard, bring food to a family you know who is struggling, have extra shoes or clothes? Take them to a charity. Does your church bathroom need cleaning? Well get to scrubbing! Does your church parking lot need to be swept and cleaned? Grab a broom. Can you work on cars? Find a family who has car troubles and offer to help! Know a single mom who needs odds and ends fixed around her house and your pretty handy with a tool? Go fix her house up! Know your prolly saying what does all that have to do with serving the God and preaching, I will tell you its called serving others and loving no matter how big or how small or who knows about your deed! When God sees your working and ready for bigger things hold on to your bridges God is going to give you your opportunity. So don't wait around that's not what God wants so don't make excuses and get to work.
Amen, this is a great post & very encouraging. Thank you!
